Terrible, no maintenance at all .

My family and I booked Villa Nefeli very last minute as we had to change our original holiday plans. I was sold by the photographs and description of the property as well as the prompt and informative responses from Bill and John. They also offered us the villa at a discounted rate of 3000 euros for 11 nights which we thought was kind. However, upon arrival it was quickly clear that the house we’d rented couldn’t be considered a villa nor was it luxurious. It was a semi detached house with small living spaces and nice bedrooms but it was far from what I would consider luxury. The outdoor space and the pool were nice but given the house had 4 bedrooms, I felt the two sun loungers were not enough for everyone to enjoy. There was no ground floor bathroom which meant you had to traipse in and up or down the stairs to the nearest toilet - annoying if you were in the pool or outside area. Our stay entitled us to 2 cleanings but each time the cleaner stayed for max 1 hour and informed us the first time she didn’t have much time to do anything much - surprising as I had thought a cleaning would mean a clean of the entire house. The kitchen was very small as was the living area but we barely used the living room as we spent most of our time outside. What was nice were the towels and bed linen in the rooms and the rooms themselves were very quaint and well maintained. The house was plagued by an army of relentless ants which appeared everywhere - not anyone’s fault but relentless none the less and didn’t really go with the whole supposed ‘luxury’ theme. The beach at the end of the road isn’t very nice nor is it organised which means you also have to drive to the beach and none of the beaches along that stretch of coast were particularly nice in my opinion - nothing to do with the house granted but relevant in terms of house location. On the wider area, the house is really far from any amenities. The nearest supermarket and bakery are in Ermioni which is a 25 minute drive away. Most of the restaurants also require at least a 10 minute drive so it really is out in the sticks and not conducive to walking anywhere. From the Villa’s description, I expected the neighbouring Porto Hydra Village ( apparently the Miami of Greece) to have some life but instead it appeared to be a washed up gated community with no relevance to our stay. In terms of communication, the house manager Tasos was very quick to respond to any queries and was very attentive to issues I raised with him but I have to say it was disappointing that the WiFi went down two days before our departure and wasn’t fixed. All in all, the house was fine but it wasn’t a villa nor was it anything fitting the palatial description on airbnb. I fear the property’s description is inflated and exaggerated which in our case led to some disappointment as the description and photos led me to believe we’d arrive to find something different.
