I really enjoyed the experience at Juan Andrés place in Nono. It's so very close to Quito but a world away. Nono itself is a real gem, quiet, green pastures, horses, cows, good traditional food and dairy products. All this right over the ridge north of Quito. During my stay I felt really at home, like I was in their 'family compound'. Nice restaurant, cozy, outdoor seating, great food and grilled meats, the Hacienda is hidden away and up the valley surrounded by open spaces but 2 minutes from town. Juan Andrés speaks perfect English and is very responsive and man's the grill in the restaurant. The accommodation had great views, a balcony and a fireplace. Yes, it's cold at night but the fire and a space heater keep it comfortable. This is a real gem, laid back, beautiful countryside experience close to Quito, I will return for sure.!
