Our stay at Mike and Mackenzie's Airbnb was absolutely fantastic! Communication with them was effortless, and they were always readily available to assist us with any questions or concerns we had. The property itself was stunning, with charming decor and all the amenities we could possibly need. From the cozy living spaces to the well-equipped kitchen, everything exceeded our expectations. Additionally, Mike and Mackenzie's attention to detail was evident throughout our stay, making us feel welcomed and comfortable. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Mike and Mackenzie's Airbnb to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. We can't wait to return!
I totally recommend this place!! It is in a such a beautiful area, with stores and supermarkets within 5 min drive. We had so much fun enjoying winter with an amazing view. Clean and spacious house. Excellent communication with the host and always welling to support any questions we had. Without doubting, we will come back!
Beautiful cottage and very responsive and helpful host. Mackenzie provided us with clear instructions and checked in throughout our stay. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the backyard much due to icy conditions. Otherwise, everything was perfect!
This was our first time staying at this cottage. We would go back and recommend going! In town, we enjoyed Old Dog Brewery in bobcaygeon, and christine from Buckhorn Brownies made us an amazing cheese cake. The indoor space was clean, organized, and cozy. We had two 6 month babies, a 3 yr and 5 yr old with us. The space needed no child proofing for their ages. We brought our own firestick to watch football. Otherwise, the cottage had TV, wifi, hot water, all the comforts of home but "in the woods." The kitchen had everything we needed. We prepared meals at home before coming since we had 4 small kids, so we brought a crock pot. The screened in porch, chandelier, and string lights make for excellent ambiance. The lake was frozen, and we were able to skate and play hockey. We also toboganed on the slope beside the cottage. Everything we wanted and more, hope to go back in the summer!

Hello! I’m Mackenzie! I’m a nuclear professional and university professor located in the Toronto area. My husband (and cohost) Mike and I have owned our cottage since 2020 but previously operated a condo Airbnb from 2016-2020. I grew up in a small town on a dairy farm which is where my passion for the outdoors was born. My favourite hobbies are paddle boarding, hiking, reading, equestrian, and yoga! I also love hosting via Airbnb and I care deeply about the experience of our guests! I want to highlight that Our Kawartha Lakehouse is our cottage first, and a vacation rental second so know that a lot of love has gone into curating the space! We even hosted parts of our own wedding here!
