Where do I begin? Alex, Aurora's mother, greeted us at the coffee shop nearby. She talked to us about the history of the building we were going to stay in, as well as give us some pointers on getting around. She speaks excellent English. Her apartment was modern and cozy. If stairs is an issue, the building has an elevator. She showed me where everything was prior to her leaving. She gave us her cell in case we had any questions about anything during our stay. There is free street parking on the private street, however the size of your vehicle matters. Within 50 meters, there is a parking garage that is 20 euros a day. Teo, the owner of the garage was so cool and accommodating. We were about a 5-7 minute walk to the Vatican City. The local eateries are spot on. The patisserie around the corner is Riekkomi. Their pastries are homemade. Finger licking good... For dinner we ate at Vecchia Osteria Del Gelsomino. It is just outside the building around the corner. Definitely a locals spot, as we were the only couple from out of town. I recommend making reservations. My husband had the pasta carbonara, best he's had. I had the lamb chops. To sum our stay, we will stay again with Alex and Aurora's apartment. Highly recommend.
