Between the mountains and the sea; we are at 800 meters above sea level and the recently asphalted windy road up has amazing views. Polopos is a quiet village surrounded by nature. Perfect for mountain walks, reading, writing or making art. Artist Thysa Zevenbergen and cookbook writer and barista Wynand Boon organize art and cooking workshops and cook you private dinners on request. The house is recently renovated and equipped with all modern comforts. The house is built like a riyad, around a small patio. The animals used to live on the ground floor, but the stables and bodega are now where your hosts live. As guests you will have the upper floor which is at street level. There are two rooms on this floor, both with their own private outside space, private bathroom and toilet, a shared kitchen and a reception space that doubles as art gallery. The stylish room is furnished with a luxury queen size bed, a private bathroom with rain shower, private toilet, and there is airconditioning/heating and free Wifi. This room has writing desk and a small library, a closet with drawers for your clothes and a small balcony with table and chairs. There is an honesty bar where you can take a beer, a bottle of wine and other refreshments.

We zijn hartelijk onthaald door Wijnand. De kamer is heel mooi en koel. Het bed sliep heel comfortabel en het is er snachts stil. Wijnand had ons wat tips gegeven over een wandel route en mooie plekken in de buurt. Ook hebben we genoten van de goede koffie, huisgemaakte jam’s en een dinner gemaakt door de gastheer. Al met al een plek waar we graag terug komen.
Very welcoming, clean and beautiful rooms. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Polopos is a very small village with friendly residents. Here you can find peace and quiet and relax. The view is fantastic. We walked down the mountain twice. At the bottom of the mountain you have a village by the sea where you can have lunch and recover from the walk. Really highly recommended!
El alojamiento es espectacular , acogedor, limpio y original, hemos estado muy a gusto, cuando llegamos no había nada abierto y nos ofreció una cena de picoteo fantástica, contratamos ademas el desayuno y es la mejor decisión que tomamos, Nando prepara todo con mucho gusto y dedicación, todo exquisito y su agradable compañia, la estancia ha superado nuestras expectativas.
We zouden 1 nacht blijven maar het werden er drie. Liever waren we nog langer gebleven😝. Polopos is een unieke plek waar je niet zomaar tegenaan loopt tijdens het reizen. Het is nl flink de berg op. Maar dan kom je op een plek die een bepaalde sfeer uitstraalt: rust, creativiteit, oud en nieuw door elkaar, een fijn restaurantje waar je vegetarisch kan eten en natuurlijk Thysa en Wijnand die je een heerlijk tijdelijk thuis bieden en niet te vergeten ons een top maaltijd voorschotelden. We hebben genoten!!! Dank jullie en wie weet rijden we nog een keertje de berg op 😄. Succes met al jullie plannen. Liefs Linda en Mechtild
wat een gave plek om hier te zijn. het is wel echt in de bergen, maar wat een mooie plek...heerlijk bed en prachtige kamer. we komen zeker terug

The village of Polopos is the perfect place to get away from the city and busy everyday life. It is surrounded by nature with amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea and even Africa on a clear day.
Polopos is a quiet mountain village with 70 inhabitants. There is one bar where locals and tourists meet and connect. The recently asphalted road takes you in 15 minutes to the beach.
There is a lot to see and do around Polopos and having a car with you is advisable. It is only 10 kilometers to the nearest beach, an hours drive to Granada and the beautiful Alpujarra valley immediately on the other side of the mountain.
It is possible to take a bus from Granada or Motril. We would need to pick you up then, because the bus stops are at the foot and on top of the mountain.

自我介绍
Thysa and Wijnand are an artistic and adventurous couple. Thysa grew up in The Netherlands, the USA and France and lived in the U.K. and Italy before moving to Spain. She studied Italian cooking in Bologna, but decided she wanted to be an artist instead. She paints cityscapes and makes paper cutouts and she writes and illustrates children’s books. Wijnand grew up in The Netherlands and studied Political Theory in Leiden. Before moving to Spain with Thysa, he sang in a bluesrock band, he was a coffee roaster and espresso and latte art specialist, he managed a lunchroom and a beach bar, he did marketing and communications for The National Theatre in The Hague and walked 8000 kilometers through Europe to prove a queen wrong. Together they lived in a 40 year old Mercedes van for three years traveling through Europe making cooking videos. In 2019 they were elected as honorary citizens of Polopos after winning Dutch tv program ‘Het Spaanse Dorp’ (The Spanish Village).
