Fabulous location in a rustic, historical setting by the beach. Outside appearance is a little disappointing at first but inside was very clean and spacious. Beds aren't super comfy, but who needs sleep? TV wasn't plugged in, but who needs tv when you're a walk from beautiful Lake Michigan? Water needs softening (strong smell), but it's so peaceful who cares, bring some bottled water. Close to Duck Lake, Michigan Adventure, downtown Whitehall. A short walk to the channel ... just loved it and had a great time. Wasn't sure which row boats to use. Very hands off host. In general had a WONDERFUL time!

We try to avoid leaving negative reviews and brought our issues to Daniel’s attention. However, he chose not to respond so we feel it is important to warn future guests. The electrical system is very outdated to the point of dangerous, the breakers blew multiple times and a person in our party was shocked plugging in a curling iron. We kept everything unplugged unless necessary for the remainder of our stay. Also, the furniture was very unstable, we did not use the top bunk as it felt it was too unsafe and the tile in the bathroom was chipping off the floor, I actually cut my foot on a piece that was broken off. We understand it’s an older cabin and had a rustic feel but these are some serious safety issues that seemed to be ignored by Daniel. If these safety concerns are addressed the cabins would have a lot of potential as they are located on a beautiful lake.

Daniel is a great host. He has a very friendly demeanor and is very responsive to any concerns that we had. The cabin was nice and the location was great, just across the street from White Lake and a scenic 10-minute drive to Lake Michigan.
