Amelia was a great host and the location is hard to beat, but the basement apartment had some downsides we didn’t love: 1. The kitchen was really small, and not very well equipped for cooking imho. The circuits didn’t seem able to handle having a cooktop and microwave on at the same time. 2. It was just a little dingy. There was a lot of dust, peeling paint, and laundry was in a separate area packed with stuff (spooky at night!) 3. The only entrance is down some tight stairs, may be a challenge with large luggage. 4. It got the landlord special: everything was painted white, from the various pipes on the ceiling to the bricks filling a hole in the wall. 5. It’s at the bottom of a shared home and may not be ideal for working, but there’s some great coworking spaces nearby. 6. No space in the driveway, had to street park. Totally fine as there’s usually plenty of space, but may be an issue in winter when they plow.

Wonderful location and lots of light. As others have mentioned it's not the best spot if you're taller (low pipes and smaller bed) but overall a nice stay.

Incredible location! Just a few blocks from the water, and about a mile from all the downtown restaurants and shops. That was why we chose it and it was great for that. Amelia was extremely friendly and responsive when a few small things came up that I needed help with. The unit was very clean. As the pictures reflect, it’s a basement unit (with lots of natural light), so not the best if you hate spiders.

I had an amazing time here! Portland is an awesome port town just like you would picture. The place in a great part of town only about a 3 minute walk from the water, right by the only beach in town, and still walkable to downtown. Amelia was very friendly, responsive, and even proactive to my needs.
