This is an amazing meeting with a family from whom we rented their parents' house, right in the center of Pavias, a small town with less than 100 people. Paco took us for a three-hour walk through the natural park in which the town is located, gave so much warmth, many gifts to children, offered to stay for the whole day and today we all hugged and parted with tears in our eyes. Incredible kindness and unforgettable experience. Such a cozy home of Paco and Amparo. The atmosphere is like visiting relatives for the holidays. Warmed by the sun, we open up to life, come into contact with people, and ignorance of the language absolutely does not prevent us from being in contact and warmly communicating about the main thing. The warmest and most cordial impressions about the house and about this loving family. You hugged and warmed our hearts. If you are looking for a place for spiritual walks, relaxation, silence, in an old beautiful house with a history, we highly recommend it😊

Hiking in the Sierra de Espádan, province of Castellón. In the hinterland of Valencia you will find a National Park: the Sierra de Espádan. The park is about 31 hectares and has a number of mountain peaks of about 1100 meters. There are many beautiful hiking trails plotted and can be found via wikiloc. The park is very green. Pine trees, cork oaks and holm oaks alternate. Here and there are almond trees that bloom in January / February. There are only a few small villages with very limited facilities. There are deep gorges, springs peaks and valleys. Deserted villages and castle ruins. Highly recommended for the hiking enthusiast. We spent the last 2 weeks of January to walk there from the village of Paviás in the middle of the park. There is a pub and a casa rural. There are at least 10 brisk walks to be made from the village. But it is worthwhile to drive half an hour or more for a walk. From the highest peaks you can see the sea and on a clear day you can see the mountains near Denia. In winter it can be quite cold in the morning, frost on the ground is no exception, but the sun shines and the wind is not strong, so just walk in your Tshirt, lovely uphill. Temperatures between 12 and 23C and clear blue. In 13 days, we walked 152 kilometres and 6792 metres altitude in this surprisingly beautiful nature reserve. We stayed in the Casa Rural of Amparo and Paco who come from the village. They are teachers and very nice and warm people. They make you feel welcome. They also have a lot of documentation about walks available and important for winter hikers: there is excellent heating. The beds are excellent. It is a cosy house with everything you need. The house is in the middle of the national park.
