John and Zdenka’s place is ideal for long term stays. Their attention to detail, in terms of what their guests might need is outstanding. From cleaning supplies to vacuum cleaners, everything one may need to keep the place clean is provided. Many other AirBnB’s are not well stocked like this. Some AirBnB hosts have forgotten that the experience is supposed to be more like a hotel, instead of a barely furnished rental apartment. John lives with his family upstairs and is always available to help. Any issue that may arise is addressed promptly. The accommodation is easy to keep clean. The area is one of the best areas in Toronto. It is not crowded, but also not far from downtown. Grocery stores are within walking distance.

The place itself is very nice. Very good space for the cost in a great area. LA Fitness is a 20-minute walk, and tennis courts are nearby as well. High Park and the subway station there are also only 10 minutes away. The only drawback to the unit is that the host is quite controlling and will monitor everything you do, from when you come and go, to who you see. It's quite extreme, to the point where I found it unsettling the amount of information he knew that I had not informed him of, so I canceled my stay early due to being uncomfortable with feeling watched in my home. There are also some additional rules not in the posting which are laid out in a rulebook, such as advising the host when you will be away, trash is to be taken out daily or every other day, and playing video games is restricted. Finally, the internet is great and as advertised in the living room, could be a bit spotty sometimes in the bedroom.

Spacious and well-furnished on the first floor of a quiet two-storey house in a safe residential neighborhood. The kitchen was especially well-stocked, and John is very generous with providing cleaning supplies, paper towels, etc. to ensure a comfortable stay. The hosts live on the second floor, and are warm, responsive, and respectful. They work very hard to provide a clean and hospitable environment. The nearest subway station is less than ten minutes by foot, and provides good access to downtown. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores close by. I would add that the bathroom is a bit on the small side, and the surrounding area can be a bit hilly.

This is not your average Airbnb, this is truly a home away from home! I would happily stay here again, and definitely recommend! From the initial contact and throughout the stay, the host (John) was very helpful, kind and attentive. The apartment is clean, bright and spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, and they also supply a variety of spices, tea, coffee etc. I arrived here after a long stressful flight, and it was a really sweet touch to find a bowl of fresh fruit and some cold drinks to enjoy. The apartment is located on a quiet street, but still less than a 10-minute walk from the subway. A 10-15 minute walk will also take you to either High Park, shopping and restaurants along Bloor St West, or shopping and restaurants in the vibrant Junction neighbourhood. Bonus tip: If you decide to cook your own food, make sure to check out The Sweet Potato on Vine Ave (which carries a lot of organic and local food).
