Incredible, homely, well located and stylish home in a beautiful town on the stunning Welsh coast. Well-equipped and functional. Home away from home!
Great little get away cottage! walking distance of a pubs and eating out which were fantastic. Lots of lovely walks to do. Overallt fantastic place to stay!
The cottage is beautifully decorated and the towels and linen were very high quality. The bedroom is a lovely size and the open plan kitchen/lounge is just perfect for a few days’ R&R. It had everything you could need for a relaxing stay and we were very impressed. The rainfall shower was a wonderful addition. The cottage is on a main road which was a little noisy at times but only because we’re not used to traffic. There is only a double bed as well which, again, we’re not used to but everything else was just perfect.
Laugharne is perhaps best known for its associations with Wales' most famous poet, Dylan Thomas, however, there is much more to Laugharne than just Dylan Thomas.
Laugharne is a small town sitting on the estuary of the Taf River and offers stunning estuary walks, including the infamous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. There are also plenty of woodland walks and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts nearby.
It is an ancient town steeped in history, and a popular tourist destination with many great attractions in the area. With its easy accessibility to the M4, and prime location, also makes it a great base to visit Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
The Boathouse, where Dylan and Caitlin lived with their children is now a heritage centre. Overlooking the estuary are the dramatic ruins of a Norman Castle, a popular visitor attraction. Laugharne has a good choice of cafes and restaurants.
There are also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, coasteering, to a variety of water sports, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking.
There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Saundersfoot and Tenby.
There is an abundance of interesting attractions locally, including Castles, historic houses and National Botanical Gardens to name a few.
If you are a "foodie" then there is a fantastic choice of restaurants within 20 - 30 minute's drive ranging from Coast in Coppet Hall to Y Polyn, just 5 minutes from Carmarthen.
It’s the perfect place to get away from it all...
Laugharne is small enough for you to walk around, however, if you want to visit the surrounding areas such as Tenby we recommend driving or cycling.
A number of coastal walks in the area including Dylans Birthday Walk.
The nearest bus stop is a meters away.
The nearest train station is in Carmarthen, 13 miles away.
The nearest airport is in Cardiff, 79 miles away.

Great Welsh Escapes Ltd is a young and modern company with a fresh approach. The concept first started several years ago after Michelle Davies, Managing Director, relocated back to Wales, after spending 15 years in London, studying a BSc in Tourism Management, then on to pursue a career in Lettings and Property Management, resulting in the setting up of a Property Inventory company based in West London. Michelle has now done a full circle, with moving back to her hometown, and going back to her Tourism routes, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience along with her experienced team. We have the privilege of promoting and managing many beautiful cottages in some of the most fantastic locations in Wales. We purposely have a small portfolio so that we can offer exceptional customer service to both cottage owners and our guests.
