For overnight stays, a compact double room. Private bathroom attached double bed , TV. pay as you use mini bar, fridge ,tea and coffee making facilities .Fan, central heating. Wifi . We accept well behaved dogs for a one off fee of £25 in certain rooms . payable by link at booking . Please check prior to booking. Complimentary continental style breakfast available in the guests sitting room. A la carte cooked breakfast in the downstairs cafe, open daily from 9to 5 Your room is private and lockable. The attached bathroom is exclusively for your use. There is a bar stocked pay as you use fridge in your room and tea coffee and milk are supplied for you to use. The downstairs guest sitting room is available to sit in , read or take meals or a complimentary breakfast of fruit and cereal in. The downstairs cafe is a public cafe and opens at 9 every morning till 5. Serving tea. Coffee, cakes , snacks and some evenings. Guests have a seperate private entrance and a key pad system to allow entry and exit at will. There is an outside terrace area which is ideal for relaxing day or night. The rooms are in the village centre and right on the edge of Dartmoor. Many riverside or moorland walks be enjoyed straight from the hotel. Parking is free in the station car park only a few yards up the road. An ideal central location to explore the moor and the south hams coast

Great place. Immaculate. Super facilities. Would love to stay again.
Richard very kindly upgraded us for free to a larger room, which was wonderful, but caused a little confusion upon our arrival as all our instructions were for the original room, but Richard called me and explained everything very quickly! The room itself was clean and comfortable and well equipped with water, tea-making facilities and a little fridge, which was great, plus a fan, and laminated print-outs of all the info we needed for our stay. Lovely big comfy kingsize bed with good quality pillows. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was great! The free continental breakfast was excellent and much appreciated. We also tried the vegetarian cooked breakfast in the cafe downstairs and that was top quality! The code locks on the doors made coming and going super-easy, whatever the time of day or night - no keys to worry about! My only complaint is that the wifi wasn't brilliant, which made it hard to watch non-live stuff on the TV, but that was a minor gripe.
We loved our stay at Richard’s place. The host was very nice and we were lucky to get a free upgrade to a room with a separate exit. The room was clean and cosy, the view was amazing. The town has very pretty walking trails to explore and make your stay more exciting.
The Station House Ha a lovely club like feel, with a guests lounge and comfortable seating areas downstairs. It’s very conveniently located and provided excellent home made pizzas if you don’t want to venture out. Probably wasted on a single hiker who is used to far less but a lovely place to stay.

It is easy to walk from the hotel straight up to the moor and beyond.
Car days out to the superb beaches are easily achieved and take in the very best of the area
The river towns of Dartmouth and Totnes are nearby and well worth exploring.
Cycling is very popular around snd lanes and touted are plentiful.
