We enjoy the outdoors, walking & cycling. (Roger enjoys cycling more than me)We have a passion for our environment & treasure it. Every year, for the past 15 years we have undertaken a 3-4 day (catered) walk in different parts of NZ, with a group of friends. That has been a very active holiday, but the emphasis is on friendship & social interaction. Someone said - "it's walking between meals" but you certainly earn your supper! As hosts, we would accord you all the privacy you require. We are there for guidance. We want you to have a wonderful, stressfree time. Everyone needs "down time" to recharge their batteries. Everyone have different reasons for being in a place. All are valid. We've enjoyed travelling overseas and the memorable times are those when we have connected with local people. Local knowledge is worth it's weight in gold. While travelling, we value having time to ourselves as well. To unwind and have some quiet time too. There needs to be a balance. We love to go to movies & attend the International Film Festival in Wellington every year. We always chose a number of dramas - always a variety of cultures in the mix, and some documentaries. We enjoy good food & wine and are fortunate to live in an area where fresh produce & fish is in abundance. Cooking is a pleasure. We grow seasonal vegetables and have 3 hens, who tend to lay intermittently. They have earned their retirement.
