We absolutely loved Emmanuel & Stephanie’s home!! All the rooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable… the bedrooms were also very spacious and cozy!! The kitchen was just perfect as we bought local products and would use the kitchen a lot!!! Emmanuel was extremely helpful and recommended a restaurant in le roque gageac which become our favorite!! Also we had a problem with our rental car upon departure and both Emmanuel and Stephanie could not have been more accommodating and helpful as we looked for a solution!! I would highly recommend Emmanuel & Stephanie’s home and Montfort village! Thank you for a wonderful home to discover Perigord noir!!

Great location, well restored stone building in a beautiful village. House includes many stairs without handrails, mobility unfriendly. Linen poor quality, amount inadequate, additional pillows & blankets not provided. Not all essential provided as promised in listing. Furniture not as represented in photos in living room and patio, substitutes inadequate & uncomfortable. Kitchen in need of a thorough cleaning. No house book provided on use of appliances, garbage disposal, heating, restaurants, grocery stores etc.

The house is even better than it looks. The balcony railings are covered in a beautiful trumpet vine and the garden below is an oasis of green tranquillity and is surrounded by a wisteria, making the area very private. No one can see you on the balcony and the view is beautiful. You can see the limestone cliffs by the Dordogne which were often cloaked in mist in the mornings. We loved having our morning coffee out there before the sun came round. At that point the terrace is really shaded and has a couple of umbrellas too so you can eat outside all day without roasting and has a view of the chateau, lovely old buildings, beautiful countryside and the sunset. House martins and swallows fly over the terrace all day. We also saw a hobby hunting and an owl from the terrace. We spotted red squirrels on the Chemin des Pêcheurs which is a short, fairly steep walk from one side of the chateau, down to the river and back up to the boulangerie. We recommend Le Centenaire too. Worth booking!

We had a fantastic week at Emmanual's beautifully renovated, spacious and comfortable home in the gorgeous village of Montfort. Emmanuel was very responsive q'd helpful, it was a shame we didn't get a chance to meet. The village is well placed to visit many sites in Périgord while being an oasis of peace and quiet. We made full use of the outdoor terrace for meals. We can heartily recommend this property and hope to one day return ourselves.
