We had a great stay at Suzanne's lake house. The lake is just beautiful and the water very clear. We enjoyed swimming and fishing from the dock, and took both the kayak and canoe out for a spin. The layout of the house is best for a family or group that is very comfortable with each other. The curtain separating the two bedroom areas was actually totally fine. The curtain separating the shower from the hallway was more of a surprise, but not a big deal for our family. There is no bath, so our 5 year old got his first shower at the cabin. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, cutting boards, knives, spatulas, and butter boats (you'll see). We had a rainy day during our stay and can report that the DVD selection is "awesome" (as judged by both parents and the 5 year old). Midweek, we saw more birds than people on the lake: herons and eagles. It was interesting watching all the fish swimming just below the deck - every once in a while a few big ones would saunter through and the little fish would scatter. Even better than having a living room aquarium. Overall - a great lake spot!

Suzanne’s cottage was perfect for our long weekend. We brought our 2 and 4 year old and it was the perfect size for our family of four. With a few adjustments on our part, the space was toddler friendly. You just can’t beat the turquoise lake views during the day and stars at night. The house is perfectly stocked and welcoming. We’ll be back!

Suzanne was a fantastic host and quick to respond. The cottage was adorable, in a location like you'd see on the DIY show Maine Cabin Masters. The lake was beautiful and the close proximity to trails and forest preserves was great. All in all it was a fantastic trip. I would highly recommend.
