Check-in was in person with a very quick glance. Unclear instructions on how to unlock door, left stranded (~10mins) with no replies to call or messages via w_hatsapp and airbnb. Once inside with my luggage, started noticing the dust and trash on the floor by the TV stand (including a large hairball covered in dust). Started to check everything And noticed spider webs in the corners, dead bugs on kitchen floor, bird droppings on kitchen counter, there were what looked to be rat droppings in a few spots in the apartment as well (kitchen, under the couch). Kitchen table and chair legs were covered in spiderwebs and dust and the floor was dusty with stains. I asked for a refund as it was inhabitable and was told the apartment was clean. Airbnb support found proof of my claims from the pictures I sent them. Views outside are great; next to only cheese factory on the island. Other things to note: apt has ocean view -it's not oceanfront, zero ventilation if windows closed

The host is really amazing person. He was there waiting for us when we have arrived, provided us great recommendations where to eat and what to do, also the checkout was very smooth, very flexible and to the best confort of the guests. Furthermore, the breakfast is amazing, in the Café Vaquinha (the oldest cheesemaker of the island), whose owner (João Cota) is father of the owner of the house, great hospitality. The house is very confortable, very nice style in wood, very well decorated, totally recommend for a nice stay in the beautiful Terceira island.

I would not recommend this location. It had an awful smell of raw sewage upon arrival. We had issues with numerous cockroaches. After seeing one run under our bed and not finding it we attempted to go to sleep. Then there was numerous mosquitoes and if you closed the windows it was hotter than a sauna. Finally, we gave up and left around 12:30am to try and get better rest elsewhere. Normally, I wouldn’t write a negative review but nobody has responded to us about any refund after 2 weeks.
