比尔基卡拉(Birkirkara) · 联排别墅里的独立房间 · 1室1床0.5卫 · 可住1人 · Birkirkara Private Room with Balcony (Central)
This is a one bed room with nice Maltese balcony on the first floor This property is a typical Maltese town house. It is a large house by Maltese standards. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a window onto the façade. Further in, overlooking the garden there is a single bedroom. The house has a large living/ dining area. There is also a kitchen and a shower room on the ground floor. The garden has orange and lemon trees and some flower bushes. The accommodation sleeps 10 people The imposing staircase leads to a first floor. On this level there is a double bedroom overlooking the garden and a bathroom. There are also another two double bedrooms overlooking the street and a single bedroom. There is this one single bedroom on the first floor. The other rooms on this floor are twin rooms. The house has an automatic washing machine and cable TV. There is also a microwave, an electric oven and a big fridge/ freezer. There is garden furniture and some deck chairs for sunbathing. The house has been recently renovated yet with expertise the old features were maintained. All the electricity and water systems are new. The colour scheme on the walls is modern and modern paintings, yet the tiling is old to bring out the Mediterranean character of the house. The hand-painted patterned tiles are a beautiful feature of this house. There is also a typical Maltese balcony. This area is not a touristic area and will provide a truly Maltese experience. All the neighbours are Maltese yet a stone’s throw away from the house, one can find some dining places serving Maltese dishes and other European meals. There is also a McDonald’s of this is what you prefer. The bus stage is 5 minutes on foot from the house and the buses go from the North to Valletta on this bus route. Buses pass often and this is the best public transport system you could get on the islands. There is no parking right outside the house but the parking bays are just around the corner and the parking in this area is free. A small store for buying foodstuffs is also round the corner but if you prefer the larger supermarkets you should visit SMART supermarket also in B’Kara. This house provides you with the peace and quiet that you deserve while being located in the centre of Malta. Whether you prefer the sandy beaches or swimming from the rocks, you need to take only one bus to get you to your desired diving spot. Valletta is not more than 20 minutes by bus from the house in normal traffic conditions. We wish you a pleasant stay in our house
Everything as described, great location and very good communication with the owner, I recommend
A large traditional Maltese house with several private rooms at very affordable prices. Very centrally located in historic Birkirkara where street markets are held every Wednesday and Friday. Facilities include an equipped kitchen, dining area, washing machine etc. A great place to meet new people and a good base for exploring the island. Thanks
Everything is perfect: bathrooms are clean, the room was comfortible and the best is the rooftop. Anytime again.
The accommodation of Rosanne, it's really nice , if you areon holiday in Malta to meet some people and to can manage your life as you want. It's a little bit to far of the nice places with the parties but close by bus to the differents things to visit. If you are a little bit maniac about proprety don't choose this. There is a beautiful point of view in the roof, it's a really beautiful place ta take a meal in the evening. If you are on internship,it's not a good idea. There is a lot of traffic jam so difficult to move in the morning and in the evening, it's noisy and there is not a lot of space in the fridge to keep your food cold. It's 1/2 fridge for 10 persons.
Birkirkara: the city with the largest bell in Malta
Birkirkara is one the largest, oldest and most heavily populated city in the centre of Malta with 25,775 inhabitants in an area of 2.7 km2. The Old Railway Station, a memory from Malta’s railway past, can be found in Birkirkara and can still be visited today, with a public garden around it. Malta’s perhaps most beautiful church, St Helen Basilica can also be found in this town. Besides its beauty, the church is also famous for having Malta’s largest bell. St Helen is also the main religious feast in Birkirkara and the main attraction of the feast is a procession during which, a large wooden statue of St Helen (created by Maltese Salvu Psaila) is carried through the city. The procession leaves the basilica at 08:00 to return at 10:45 on the first Sunday following the 18th of August. The timing of the procession is unique as these events usually take place in the evening.
Birkirkara has grown over the years and become an important commercial centre. Birkirkara is famous for its football club Birkirkara F.C and also for the floodings in the village after heavy rainfall. This problem occurs since Birkirkara is located in a valley, catching waters from from Naxxar, Balzan and Attard.
Today most of Birkirkara is modern but the town still kept some of its traditional Maltese characteristics of narrow streets and alleys. The city’s older part is separated from the newer part by a small garden. The larger houses in the town are often used as band clubs or offices for political parties.
Birkirkara: Things to do and see
St Helens Church: The church is a very fine example of baroque architecture on Malta and was built in 1727. The church is most famous for its large bell, installed around 1932 and the statue of St. Helen, which was completed in 1837 by the Maltese artist Salvu Psaila.
Ta’ Ganu Windmill: The windmill is located on Naxxar road and is one of the few remaining windmills in Malta. Ta’ Ganu Windmill was built in the earlier part of the eighteenth century during the principate of Portuguese Grandmaster Antonio Manoel de Vilhena. The building has recently been restored.
The Old Railway station: The railway only had one single line, which ran from Valletta to Rabat and was set up due to the demands for better transport. The sidings and the forecourt were moved into a public garden during the restoration in 1970.
Aqueduct: This aqueduct was founded in 1610 by Grand Master Wignacourt, and was used to bring water from Rabat to Valletta. A large section of the 16-km (10-mile) can still be seen in Birkirkara.
The bus stop is Mannarinu. The Birkirkara bus terminus is just a few metres from the house.
It is easy to get around by public bus but if you want to rent a car, there are a number of free parking places just around the corner. Mark in a white box and never on a double yellow line.
If you wish to rent a car or scooter send us a message as we rent these from our office.
