A lovely cosy and welcoming cottage, immaculately clean and spacious. The location is fantastic- only 10 minute walk into Barnard Castle with a huge choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants. This is a beautiful area with lots of great walks on the doorstep. Thelma was a lovely host - very quick to respond and some good recommendations for local walks. We will definitely be returning

Very easy to find, Thelma was friendly, providing everything we needed and more. Lovely extra with homemade scones, and milk. Would recommend as super easy to get around and walking distance to the town. Lovley stat, thank you.

A superb stay and a lovely cottage. We relaxed the moment we got through the door and Thelma is a great boast and very quick to respond to our questions. We will be back again as 2nd visit up to now.

We had a great two night stay at The Olde Village Shop Cottage. Thelma messaged with very clear instructions of how to find it, and how to get in. The cottage was perfect,just as in the pictures. Exceptionally clean. Cosy, comfortable and warm. Great WiFi throughout the house. A short walk into Barnard Castle itself. and lots to do nearby with a short drive. We are already planning on a return visit. Thank you
