What a gift, Eleanor and Phil’s Casita has been. Gracious is such a small word for their kindness shown towards me. Their casita has been just as creatively stimulating as it has been as it has been peaceful. Eleanor has shared her favorite hikes in the Arroyos that border their property, they are walkable and can also provide a strenuous hike if desired. Both Eleanor and Phil are genuine, lovely and interesting people you’ll enjoy being around. The Casita itself is very warm and welcoming, and has an amazing picture window that provides the most beautiful scenery and sunrises. Even on the snowiest days I felt lifted up in this space. There are plenty amenities, everything I needed was already provided. And I felt comfortable making the casita my home for a lengthy stay.  If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, that includes beautiful surroundings to explore, and yet it’s only 20 minutes to the plaza and 6 miles from Madrid, this would be the perfect spot.

I had a long stay. I felt very safe and welcomed as a young woman staying by herself. My hosts often suggested places to visit and always made me feel welcome. Very understanding and helpful. The property is beautiful and there are many peaceful walking trails. I loved my stay here and would recommend this to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay here - it’s a cute casita with everything you need for a short term stay. The dirt road to get to it is pretty bumpy, but our SUV was able to make it without any issues. The hosts were super helpful - there was a small issue where we ran out of water but they worked to order more for the rest of the stay.

Great stay. #1 - beautiful area to hike and/or just view from the porch. #2 - great bed, we slept very well every night. But if you are up late be sure to take in the stars set in the crystal clear sky. #3 - close enough to enjoy Santa Fe, the museums, the arts, and the shopping. #4 Eleanor is a charming host.

Great place. Wifi worked well for working remotely. The location felt safe and private. The view from the patio was beautiful and peaceful.
