This light and contemporary appartment has its own front lawn, private terrace, front door entrance and a safe outdoor space for you to lock-up bikes. You can easily rent bicycles from the station just around the corner. There are no child safety gates on the stairs, so you will have to keep this in mind if you have small ones. The kitchen comes with a clothes washer/dryer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and everything you need to make a gourmet meal or enjoy a healthy takeaway from the many choices in the area. In just a few minutes’ walk from the flat you have access to the Cambridge Leisure Park. With no less than eight restaurants and two supermarkets, the park also boasts a modern gym with world-class fitness equipment, tenpin bowling, a contemporary arts venue and a cinema complex - all on your doorstep. But you aren't planning to visit Cambridge for a convenient place to eat or work-out. The flat is also within easy access to the historic Cambridge city centre with the Kings Parade, punting on the River Cam and a labyrinth of the most amazing boutique shops. The Botanical gardens are an easy walk away and a leisurely walk or cycle through Lamas Land is a must. Cycle or walk to Grantchester and try to avoid the cows along the way. There are three fantastic pubs to choose from: The Red Lion, Green Man (most authentic) or the Rupert Brooke. If you fancy an old fashion English tea then go to the Orchard in Grantchester and enjoy scones under the apple trees. Make sure you walk down to the river too! One of our favorite places to go for a drink at the end of the day, is on top of the Varsity Hotel. The views of Cambridge don't get any better than that and the house Sauvignon Blanc is yum.
The Grand Central development is a modern newly developed group of flats and houses located on a leafy green neighbourhood street, but a short walk from the hub of Cambridge.
We are lucky to have Balzono's Cafe and Deli just down the road. It's the perfect place to go if you are travelling on your own or with a family. The food and coffee are delicious and it's a family run business, which makes it special. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but trust me it's good.
You will enjoy easy access to excellent transport links.
Cambridge Railway Station is under a mile away, with direct trains running every 20 minutes, or less, to London Liverpool Street as well as frequent direct trains to London King’s Cross. These fantastic links offer connections to the London Underground and all that the capital has to offer in under an hour.
Cycle routes and footpaths are easily accessible and weave themselves all around the City allowing for a greener mode of transport. You can hire bicycles from the train station and they even deliver. (URL HIDDEN)
Travelling further afield by car could not be easier, with junction 11 of the M11 accessed in just over 10 minutes and junction 35 of the A14 in under 18 minutes, enabling easy travel south to London or to the North and East of England.
Grand Central is also less than 30 miles from Stansted Airport, with flights to around 140 UK and worldwide destinations, while Heathrow Airport can be reached in just over one and a half hours.
In addition, Cambridge International Airport is a 6 minute drive away providing daily scheduled flights to a range of European destinations.
