If you are looking for peace and tranquility, and amazing views close to nature and away from the crowds then Christine’s house is for you ! Walks, wildlife, beaches and the lighthouse close by. We loved our stay and would love to return.
We had a great week at Christine's place in Portuairk. The house was bigger than anticipated, particularly the lounge and kitchen - these were 2 great rooms and you'll have plenty of space to kick back with family. Easy to find, check-in instructions were easy and everything was super clean and ready to go. The place had all the amenities you'd expect and Christine provided a travel cot and high chair for our son. My dog loved the surrounds although take note, plenty of sheep roaming free in the village so unless your dog is super obedient they'll need to stay on the lead. That being said, it didn't deter us, the beach is right on the doorstep and we were blessed with better than anticipated weather. Just a couple of minor things, wi-fi good in kitchen and lounge but weak in bedrooms, watch out for the sheep droppings when unloading/loading the car and the king mattress has definitely seen better days, probably time for it to be replaced.
Absolutely stunning part of Scotland, helped no less by several days of sunshine at the beginning of November!! Christines's house is well equipped, warm and with a beautiful big bath. Lovely big windows to watch the sunrise and sunset. Right beside the water with stunning views. The kitchen in particular is very large and well equipped, the sharp knives made cooking a joy! We didn't travel anywhere for the whole week, just relaxed in the house, went coastal walks and sea swimming.
Great family home in a stunning location right on the beach. Very well equipped and spacious accommodation, warm and cosy. Excellent communications from Christine with very helpful travel advice.
