Looking for a getaway to Alaska? We are just what the traveler, who wants to "do it their way", is looking for. Whether you are one or five, get a taste of Alaska with a touch of home. In addition to a rustic cabin tucked away in the forest, there is an outside covered eating area with a fire pit, gas grill, smoker, crab cooker, chest freezer and if you have your Alaska Sport-fishing license, two crab pots to gather your own delicious Dungeness Crab from the Hollis Anchorage Bay. The provision of an covered eating/cooking area which includes a gas grill, crab cooker, and smoker, is unique to our area. The fire pit provides a warm, cozy place for conversation and the telling of tales of the day's events. Our cabin is located on an acre of forest and is a short 1.5 miles to one of the favorite river fishing spots on the Harris River.

Deena was great to work with and the place is beautiful.
Loved the cabin as it's quaint and well-decorated in a picturesque forest setting. There are neighboring cabins visible from some windows but overall a fairly private setting. Our only complaints were an uncomfortable bed and the water system having fluctuating pressure resulting in scalding and freezing showers.

We loved the cabin, super cute, right next to a creek so we had the soothing sound of the babbling creek 24/7. The location was conveniently close to the Hollis ferry terminal - about 10 minutes drive. Harris River was close by where could go fishing and hiking. Craig was about a half hour drive from the cabin. Deena was great at answering questions quickly and was very helpful with lots of good suggestions on things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cabin for your Prince of Whales visit!

We welcome all individuals to experience our Alaska! The climate is similar to NW Washington! Prince of Wales hosts part of the largest temperate rain forest in the world, The Tongass! There is a saying here on POW, "there is no bad weather, just poor choices in clothing".
The guest will either need to bring their vehicle with them on the Inter Island Ferry from Ketchikan or rent a vehicle on the island to use during their stay. The cabin is located approximately 10 minutes from the ferry terminal, 20 minutes from Klawock and 25-30 minutes from Craig. From the east to west sides of the island, it is 20 miles!
For your vacation rentals, whether a vehicle, ATV, skiff or boat. Hollis Adventure Rentals has a variety of the above available to rent. RainForest has a variety of vehicles also available. There are other vendors for renting boats, kayaks/canoes, skiffs available on the island. Please check on the POW Chamber of Commerce web site for listings. Warning, rented vehicles go quickly, so act early!
