Our family of 12 stayed here at isla daku (with my 82y/o mom and balikbayan sister/ american husband). The place is a perfect location if you want privacy and if you want to be near the beach all the time. The house has its own Beach front and naked island and guyam island (the 2 other well known beach island are just a stone throw away from this place. Tita marlene (the owner) was a great host! She was always there to help us and give us directions/instructions so our vacation will be perfect! Food was great if you want to just stay in the island coz tita marlene cooks delicious meals! from seafood dishes to italian and native dishes. ( i specially love her adobo!) The buko in this place is also good! (its sweeter than the ones ive tasted in other places). The bed is comfortable and the bathroom are clean and excellent. The view from the terrace is awesome! coz you can see the white sand beach/ocean/sunset just outside your room. Thanks tita Marlene for everything. She went beyond to make our vacation a memorable one! Thanks and i hope we can go back soon!

We had a wonderful time staying on Daku Island. The experience was much more than we had ever expected! Great food prepared from her staff, impeccable view, and the quietness of the island was incredible. We also enjoyed traveling to and from the little town of General Luna from Daku Island in their motorized outrigger as it really made it a unique experience. As an avid surfer I found that there are great places to surf in the area including Cloud 9, but I even found a couple of good surf spots just in front of the property. This was our first trip to the Philippines and we really loved it.

If you want a piece of paradise..... If you want a place to do nothing and just renew yourself... If you want to commune with nature and marvel at God’s creation...Marlene’s island is the place to stay. The compound is very private and is an easy 10-15 minute ride from the Siargao port. You will be picked up by a private banca (pump boat) named AZIZA, driven by Mang Gerry. Mang Gerry will take care of everything for you. A group of 6 or 7 people is probably ideal for the property. Or you can go as a couple and stay in the bungalow. Marlene is a most gracious host and will take care of everything you would ever need. Here’s the secret.....the food is the best! It is home cooking at it’s best. No need to go to General Luna ...everything you would need and want can be provided by Marlene. Another secret is the surfing area for beginners is just in front of the house. Ask Mang Gerry to arrange a private lesson for you. Or ask Mang Gerry to take you island hopping or snorkeling in the SECRET GARDEN. Walk to the end of the island at the Punta to catch the most beautiful sunset you will ever see. It was a place to rest, a place to enjoy nature, a place to see beauty.....and if you are a foodie....such a relaxing and lovely place to eat.

Perfect for travellers who wish to experience serenity at its best. The villas are fronting the beach with white and powdery sand and crystal clear water. Try the home cooking of Tita Marlene, host, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s simply sumptuous and comforting. There’s no nearby convenience store or establishment so buy your favorite snacks with you upon arriving to the city. There is a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport (40 minutes) and; pump boats (15 minutes) from the boulevard to the island. Tita Marlene, host, is very accommodating and proactive. She’s truly an awesome host. Mention all your plans while in Siargao so she could suggest the best options for you and your folks.

Thank you so much tita, a Filipino word for aunt or a term of endearment. She has treated us like family. And her place like a home. The place is perfect for those who shy away from the busy crowds. To those who prefer privacy and intimacy. The main house is an architectural inspiration. The food menu was well thought of. The dishes, sumptuous and hearty, coming from titas personal recipes. The bon fire night was an added extra.. and so was the dinner by the beach. Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate with us. Fortunately, this gives us another reason for us to go back. I cant wait for our next trip to spend more nights in paradise with tita Marlene as our host. One again... our heartfelt gratitude.
