We were attending a wedding at The Lodge at Malibou Lake and wanted to stay nearby. The hotel arranged by the bride & groom was more expensive and just a room. We love staying in unique places and this was totally unique. It’s a small space but has a very comfortable king size bed and nice sofa. We weren’t planning to do any cooking, but were able to make toast and coffee, and keep a few things in the fridge. Would have loved to explore more if it wasn’t raining. Thanks Geraldine for the cookbook you wrote, can’t wait to try your recipes!
This Caboose was exactly as described. My partner and I enjoyed our one night stay. The location was great. Host had very clear instructions for us to get there. It was quiet and private. Before check out we took a morning stroll and walked down for some coffee at The Old Truck located at The Old Place which we fell in love with. Such a friendly and beautiful little community. We look forward to booking again for a longer stay.
I loved the place, a beautiful location that felt out and away but still offers good access to Agoura, Malibu and surrounding areas. Very funky and full of character.
Absolutely loved the caboose. A picturesque stay and I loved being able to gently hear the nature outside. Very secluded and away from hustle and bustle and had everything I needed for my time there. The host was absolutely wonderful - communicative and helpful. Wifi worked fabulously well and I loved being away from the 100% always-connected world. Sunsets on the hills and the morning dew were GORGEOUS. I would love to stay here again.
Such a special find! This place is really cool and in a great spot, close to the beach and awesome hikes.

THE ROCK STORE famous as a weekend motorcycle hangout. Breakfast, BBQ lunch, Beer, etc. etc. Experience one of the most interesting collection of people and their machines that you will ever encounter. Lots of fun.
WITHIN AN EASY DRIVING DISTANCE YOU WILL FIND~
Some of the other interesting locations that make this area unique within a ten to fifteen minute drive from the caboose. are several state and national parks.
PARAMOUNT RANCH STATE PARK~
its western town movie set where many of your favorite old western movies and TV shows like Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman were made for example.
MALIBU CREEK STATE PARK~
with incredible hiking and bike trails and more familiar movie sets like the Planet of the Apes and the set for the TV series M.A.S.H.
A HINDU TEMPLE ~ is located on a few miles west of Malibu Creek State Park on Los Virgenes Road or Malibu Canyon Road. Here you are welcome to stroll through the grounds (shoes off) to see the amazing Hindu architecture and even participate in any ceremony or event that happens to be going on at any time. Very friendly and inspirational place.
ALL OF THE MALIBU BEACHES~ from the Pier in Malibu on up the Pacific Coast Hwy. are only 15 to 20 minutes away. Accessible by one of two beautiful routes through the Santa Monica Mountains, KANAN Road or Malibu Canyon Road.
As your hosts, we will be happy to guide you to some of the special Santa Monica Mountain points of interest and Coastal State Parks that lay to the north of Malibu, beautiful places that one might miss if you did not know about them.

Hello everyone, I am originally from Northern Ireland and emigrated to America in 1975. I have owned 6 restaurants in my time but I am now retired. My passion is dog rescue and I started my non-profit “Chiquita’s Friends “ in 2011. I have saved hundreds of dogs from high kill shelters in Los Angeles, but my true passion is saving the street dogs in various regions of Baja, Mexico. I am now splitting my time between Mexico and USA
