Set in a pretty little valley, Yanko's place is a great jumping off point for exploring the mountains. The house is beautiful and right next to the river that runs through the village. The best part of my stay though was spending time with Yanko and his wife. I was treated like family. I will definitely be staying again.

We’ve been in Starata Furna for 5 days, and it was a relaxing, unforgettable holiday. We had an amazing bedroom, with fireplace and jacuzzi, beautifully decorated. Lopyan is a little and beautiful village near the Balcans, where you can smell fresh air and the only noise that you hear is the water flowing in the river that goes through the whole village. Yanko is a perfect host, and he’s a lot more than that: he told us many stories about Bulgaria, he showed us the beauty of the surroundings, he took us to ride horses and cooked for us every day fantastic meals from the bulgarian tradition. He also taught us how to prepare a perfect yogurt! All of this with lots of kindness and care. He made us feel like at home, and we already want to come back!

Gorgeous house, with a lovely host. We had a complimentary upgrade to the suite and where the only guests mid week. The host and his friend drank my friend under the table so my friend was too sick to explore the area too much the next day but we still had a lovely time and would definitely visit again if I’m ever close by :)
