We thoroughly enjoyed our week! The swimming pool and views were without doubt the highlights. The space worked really well for our group, which provided 3 distinct sleeping areas. Communication was prompt and we found everything we needed at the house. The location also worked really well for exploring the local area. Agree with Paul's July '23 positives re location etc and negatives re appliances. My rating is lower than the average as parking is misrepresented and inadequate for a house hosting 10. There are 2 spots outside the boundary (not "on site" as advertised) on a narrow lane behind the house with a steep ascent/descent to the property. Turning there typically required driving up hill c500 mtrs. We had 3-4 cars (babies and related paraphernalia!) and were directed to park the other 1-2 "in front of the church" c300 metres away and 116 feet below the entrance to the house. This is a long steep walk in the summer heat or rain. Yes, we were advised to unload luggage/groceries etc at the pedestrian entrance at street level but the requirement to then turn, drive back down the hill to park and walk back up renders the "on site" parking description ridiculous. We parked 1-2 in front of the cemetery, c150 mtrs downhill from the house and were told with c3 days left to move them. We did't.

First the positive. Location great, near to river, fantastic towns and also supermarkets. Views stunning, pool excellent. Lovely and quiet. Now the not so good. The place is old, rustic, which can be great, but it has not been updated since the 1980‘s. Showers and bathrooms old fashioned, downstairs toilet was just dirty, kitchen full of appliances from the 1980‘s, doors difficult to close, and most of all especially the lounge, and extension buildings, you have the feeling nothing has been properly cleaned for many years. If you dont update you place since the 1980‘s then please start charging 1980‘s prices.

Sabine's place is rustic with authentic old buildings, yet well equipped with all needed amenities. 'Charming' summarizes the set-up, there is a nice pool (protected by a retractable cover) and the view is breathtaking. There are plenty of spaces to hang out outside, and a large (though rather dark) living room to gather inside. The location is fantastic, bakery and butcher nearby, and in the middle of the most interesting attractions of the Dordogne region. On the more negative side, as we were there during a very humid June month, we ended up with quite a few mosquito bites, but this could be unusual. The parking at the house is not easy and tight for 2 cars; a nearby parking lot is available.

Absolutely idyllic spot in the heart of the Dordogne. Close to lots of gorgeous towns and castles and markets. The house is perfect for a large family with separate enclaves and a beautiful pool with plenty of lounges and seating for everyone.
