Quaint, peaceful and family-oriented... These are the words that best describe Esmedekh's ger-camp. The family has set up a beautiful logging that is both modern yet traditional with many Mongol elements. This place (and their service) could easily be comparable to a "bed and breakfast". The camp is organized to truly respect nature and promote organic living. Three warm meals are prepared daily with majority of ingredients/resources cultivated off the land. Tours and entertainment can be arranged before travel or daily with the hosts. Coming to Murun, our luggage was lost and family members took us into town to purchase necessities to last our stay. There was not wifi at our individual ger- as amenities had originally suggested, nor is there any at the main cafeteria. All in all, our stay was pleasant and we were very pleased with the value. All additional service costs are billed at the end of the stay. Highly suggest requesting airport pickup for best transport to camp.

My stay with at this Ger camp completely made my trip to Mongolia. Emse is a very experienced guide and knows everything you need to know to explore and enjoy Mongolia. The Ger camp is beautiful, but also still rural/not too touristy. The accommodations are very comfortable (there is a shower with plenty of hot water and a bathroom). Every meal is cooked by experienced Mongolian cooks, and they have a greenhouse on site for fresh vegetables. Esme organized two horse rides for me, a trip to Lake Khövsgöl, a trip to Grand Rocks. He helped me find places to fish. We visited numerous nomadic families and learned much about their culture and way of life. Esme has two kayaks available and a raft to get out on the river. Plenty of life jackets. He picked me up from the airport and dropped me back off. This place would be perfect for groups or solo, which is how I went. I highly highly recommend reaching out to Esme if you are thinking of heading to this part of Mongolia.
