We had a great stay here- lovely, spacious, rustic space. The fireplace was much appreciated for the chilly evenings as was the super comfortable bed with heavy comforter. The leafy courtyard was a peaceful spot to sit. In a great location- nice cafes and restaurants near by and a short walk to the centre and markets. Santiago was a great host- friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to help us- accompanying us to Chamula and Zinacatan and arranging a taxi to the airport. We were there for such a short time that this was appreciated and his local knowledge. We enjoyed talking with him. Would love to return with more time! Highly recommend.

I think communication and hospitality may have been affected by a busy life schedule, by domestic tasks or parenting. However none of these things were communicated. I am still unsure. I received more expansive and helpful messages when the hosts had me confused with their other guests. Despite previous guests stating how well equipped the apt was, there were no basics in the kitchen when I arrived, and this reflected a pattern of having to ask for things which ought to be provided. I was told firewood is now charged for, despite this being the main source of heat. Texts (to one of the hosts) were often not replied to, which in all honesty, felt rude. When it was time to check out, the hosts had left town, apparently the day before. I could not reach them by phone. The housekeeper explained they were gone when she arrived. At this point the blind cat was desperate for food. I think I had an anomalous experience, but I hope the hosts will appreciate the sense of welcome felt was odd.

It’s a very authentic place, old, unique, with a true vibe of Mexican family. The house is placed in a a closed area with other adjacent houses, it’s very beautiful inside, a bit wild with plants and there’s a beautiful small terrace to chill under the sun. Santiago is an attentive and friendly host and his home made pizza is a masterpiece. The house can be very cold according to the weather. Also if you’re looking for a high level of comfort (stable shower, spotlessness, stable wifi…) probably better to stay in a hotel. This house is more about its own uniqueness, immersive Mexican style and there’s a fireplace! Right next to the house is a super good cafeteria with amazing snacks and coffee and a little outside terrace by a fountain.

Lovely home with rustic charm located quite central but not central enough to hear the noise and busyness of the main walking streets. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. If you’re looking to stay at a traditional home which reflects the cultural decor and has lovely greenery surrounding it - this is the place! The cat and dog are also very cute and keep to themselves for the most part. Note: this is a separate unit attached to the hosts home but with the same front entrance.

Beautiful space, with a lovely courtyard. Very close to the centre, but not as noisy as some of the places right near Guadalupe. Friendly check-in, highly recommend!
