STRP Permit #2017035549. Welcome to my cozy hangout. This south-facing home catches the sun all day and is bright and airy. The kitchen is recently remodeled with stone countertops and all the appliances and cookware you need. The bathroom has also been renovated and has a powerful shower. Nashville airport is only 9 miles from here. While you're here, why not get your creative juices flowing and use my funky old piano and guitar to become a Nashville songwriter and pen the next number 1 hit. There are two sleeping spaces: the master bedroom has a tall queen size sleigh bed (fit for a queen) and has a closet with hangers and a dresser/TV stand with drawers you can utilize (the hairdryer lives in the the top right hand drawer); the living room has a daybed with a single mattress and a single roll out bed underneath. There's a large TV in the bedroom with several streaming apps. There's a smaller TV in the living room that has streaming apps plus a DVD player and VCR attached, with a small selection of movies and TV shows, some of which are kid friendly. The wifi is blazing fast.
Robert’s place was perfect for us! There were thoughtful details as well as kind neighbors. He was receptive to us and the perfect host! The house was very clean, and the French press coffee on the porch was lovely 😁 We loved the neighborhood, Mas Tacos, and The Biscuit House. We had our 4 year old daughter with us and felt completely safe. I even walked by myself to the house from downtown after the Rock N Roll race because of blocked roads and never questioned my safety. We would highly recommend staying here, and we will definitely look for this place again when in the area!
staying at Roberts was perfect. I've had other trips in Nashville and this was my favorite place I stayed at.
We had a very nice stay at the Writer's retreat. A very cute, historic bungalow that has been nicely restored/updated. The check in process was straightforward and Robert was very responsive to questions.
I have stayed at this location multiple times now and it is always a pleasure. Walkable to plenty of great spots and located in a quiet, safe area. 5/5 - highly recommended.
The house is on a dead end residential street, but a 3 minute walk around the corner and you'll find some great neighborhood restaurant/bars: Mas Tacos serves delicious fresh food and has recently added more outdoor seating; The Pharmacy is a popular burger and brat joint with a beer garden. Both places are extremely popular, so there can be long waits. Get there early for lunch or dinner. Next to The Pharmacy is Lyra which serves middle eastern cuisine. I haven’t tried it yet, but friends tell me it’s good. There’s also a recently opened Cajun place with a bar that stays open later than the other restaurants I mentioned.
Another 3/4 mile and you're at The 5 Spot, which is a great funky music venue and is on the edge of East Nashville's famous Five Points neighborhood where you'll find many restaurants, bars, art establishments and hip stores.
If you want a cheap cooked breakfast or a "meat-and-three," the Nashville Biscuit House is 1/2 a mile up the street. The food is simple and affordable, and the wait staff are delightful.
There are three grocery stores, Kroger and Aldi by the Biscuit house, and Publix a little further north on Gallatin Ave. There's also a Walgreens opposite Kroger.
If you want a hipper place for breakfast/coffee, try the Barista Parlor. It’s a block further than Aldi. It’s not cheap, but the quality is good.
Margot is my favorite East Nashville fine dining restaurant, and is one of the best in town. Located directly at 5 Points, they’re open evenings Wednesday through Sunday. They have also recently started serving breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Friday.
Lower Broadway is 3 miles from here where every bar has live music, and some of the best musicians in the world are playing for tips.
Also, don't miss the Country Music Hall of Fame.
If you're in town on Sunday morning, I highly recommend the brunch at Drusie & Darr located in the historic Hermitage Hotel on 6th Ave. North downtown. The food and service are first class (they source the food from their own farm). While you're there, check out the Art Deco men's bathroom - ladies, knock before you go in to take a picture. The hotel lobby is worth a look too.
Although you're in Music City, there are other things to do. The Frist Center is an excellent art gallery, and there are some interesting buildings to see, in particular the beautifully restored Union Station and the Parthenon in Centennial Park.
If you're a history buff, the Belle Meade Mansion on the west side of town is worth a visit, and Franklin, TN (24 miles south) has some interesting civil war sites, along with great shopping and eating places.
During football season Nissan Stadium - home of the Tennessee Titans – is only 2 miles away. Parking can be pricey, but Ubers/Lyfts are plentiful, and it’s easily walkable. You can buy tickets online, but you can always find people selling tickets outside the stadium, and if you wait till after kick off, the prices will drop.
The Nashville Predators hockey team made it to the Stanley Cup in 2017. You can see them play downtown at Bridgestone Arena.
We also have a strong AAA minor league baseball team: the Sounds play at First Horizon Park, 2.5 miles from here.
If you enjoy green spaces, Shelby Park (about 6 miles) is a lovely place to take a walk or ride a bicycle. They also have an 18 hole golf course with reasonable green fees.
It's easy to get around from here. Uber and Lyfts are plentiful, and there are several cab companies. There are also WeGo city buses, with the service running from early morning till close to midnight. There are Lime, Bird and Lyft scooters. You can also rent bicycles from BCycle at Five Points. If you're planning to drive downtown, be aware that parking costs can be steep.
自我介绍
Originally from Wales, I moved here in 95 after marrying a country singer (I know... classic tale). I work as a pro musician, currently with Suzy Bogguss. I like to eat out as much as possible, and I enjoy watching movies on the big screen. I've traveled the world and enjoy meeting people who are curious to discover new places. Music City is a wonderful place to visit. I hope you'll make my home your base as you discover Nashville.
