Your rental Includes 2 cottages & 3rd large lakeview room under the 24x24ft deck for your private use. 2nd cottage is a small sleeping room only with 2 single beds and small loft above with 2 or 3 single matresses. Base price is for 6 adults using the 3 bedrooms 6 adults may book, but is the maximum number of adults unless approved for more by owner. Additional children may join. UP to 3 children under 3 years old are free. Lakeview & Sleeping cabin room will only be booked if the main cabin users want to extend sleeping space. Do not worry; a different family will not be using it while you are there. Your privacy is important and respected. The small and cozy main cabin has a large 24'x24' view deck, ample seating, BBQ located on its own deck with outdoor kitchen. Fully equipped inside kitchen, private bedroom with a double bed, living room with a large L-shaped sofa which creates two single beds by simply removing the back cushions. Note: There are no windows coverings in the kitchen and living room to allow the view to shine through at all times. It is private and no one can see into the windows, but bright in the morning if you are sleeping on the sofa. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and hot shower. By going up the outdoor stairs from the cabin you access the sleeping-only Tree Top Bunkhouse cabin which is the second bedroom. You feel like you are in a tree house without having to climb the tree! This cute little cottage has 2 single beds and a view window. A ladder takes you to the small loft above. The loft has 2 or 3 single foam mattresses on the floor with enough room to sit, but not stand. Note: the ladder is steep and mounted on the wall. The loft windows provide a fantastic bird's eye view. This bunk house has it's own private deck with seating and a view. It has a rustic outdoor sink, a hot outdoor shower with a view and a beautiful outhouse with a lake view to make you feel part of the surrounding nature. Just down the stairs you have access to the indoor bathroom and kitchen of the main cabin. The 3rd large Lakeview room is available for peak season only April-September. The 20"x 14' bedroom is down the stairs from the main cabin and located under the large sundeck at the top of the driveway. It has its own entrance, private deck, 1 double bed and 2 singles . It has 20 feet of windows overlooking the lake. Just out the back patio door it has a mini outhouse; 'The Nature Nook', with a porta potty good for night time pees! Yes...you must empty & wash your own bucket into the upstairs toilet! (Emptying your porta potty is beyond the cleaner's duties!) You can also access the indoor bathroom just up the stairs! This room is only open April- September and not available for off season use. Note: You can hear people on the outside deck above you. Sound does not travel from the cabin itself. The booking can be for up to 6 adults without special permission by the host, but if a group consists of children it is fine and can increase the number to 10 if kids. There can be additional guests by request. Basically we do not host large groups of adults to avoid parties! It is a tranquil lake meant for people who want a quiet nature-oriented stay; not a party! The base rate in off season is for use of the main cabin and Tree Top Bunkhouse. It is based on 4 adults, but kids can be added. The lake and private docks are across the gravel road about 100 feet downhill from the cabin. When you are inside the cabin or on the deck you cannot see the road without peering over the edge of the front railing. You only see the lake since we are on the hillside. The road leads to nearby Kline Lake and is a forest service gravel road only; not a through road. The main dock has a table and chairs and a ladder for getting out of the lake. During June-Sept we have an additional small dock that we anchor further out into the lake. It holds the kayaks beside the main dock in the other months. The lake is very clean and supplies all cabins with drinking water along with some other residents further down stream. It is a small lake and there are no gas motors allowed. Using shampoo and soap is banned in the lake to help maintain the lake's water purity. We drink the water! The water is tested every few months and we have been drinking it for 29 years ourselves. There are only about 20 cabins on the lake as most of the surrounding land is forest. We are a painted turtle sanctuary. We include 3 adult 10 foot sit in kayaks, 1 sit on top kids kayak, 1 Stand Up Paddle board, & 2 pedal boats. These are free and unlimited use. We have many lake toys such as pool noodles, tube & float boards. We also provide a stand up paddle board. The base off-season rate is for March, April, May & October and is for 4 adults; extra adults/children can be added if requested and accepted. off season rates include main cabin and tree top cabin only. we may be able to offer 3rd room depending on weather, available staff etc Please note: The cabin is located on a hillside and a lake. Both of these things mean we require that if you bring children you must not leave them unattended. The cabin has a large 24x24' deck with a closing gate on both sides which helps to keep young children close to you while on the deck. The area around the cabin is treed and hills; not a flat level field where kids can play. We ask that you be on the dock with your children when they are swimming or fishing etc. We swim off of the dock as there is not a beach; it is a treed lake. Please use the provided life jackets when using boats, Have young children who cannot swim wear a life jacket at all times while on the dock or in boats. There are many hiking trails that are accessible from our door, including The Suncoaster Trail which is part of the Sunshine Coast Trail. We are a few kms from the famous Skookumchuck Narrows trail. Egmont is 5 kms away and provides a small well stocked grocery store, liquor store and ocean marina with boat rentals. It also has a waterfront pub The Backeddy offers meals. Fine dining is on the waterfront at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge. Inquire at the Wilderness Lodge. The breakfast there is excellent for about $22. It"s a view you dont want to miss. Its a way to enjoy both the ocean and a lake during your stay.
