We had a good time, and the overall facilities were brilliant. I had discussed with Barbara that the description of the one bedroom was a bit misleading, since this bedroom was essentially a passageway to 2 other bedrooms.

Beautiful location overlooking the river and one of the best kitted out houses we’ve stayed at. Perfect spot for exploring the area or just relaxing, and our 3 dogs loved the experience

Barbara's place is a little piece of heaven between the Central and Southern Drakensbergs. It is a huge home capable of sleeping 12 people with stunning views on all sides of mountains, forests and a lovely little river in front of the house. It has everything you need, but be sure to carry all your catering needs as the roads to and from are very challenging, especially after the rains. There are places nearby with restaurants though. It is pet friendly and our doggies absolutely loved the huge yard and amazing views. We definitely recommend this place!

Kamdun lodge is well stocked for a really comfortable stay (think electric blankets and hot trays for cold weather!) It is a very peaceful, beautiful setting and the house works well for a large group regardless of weather (good indoor communal spaces for rainy days), shady veranda for hot days, lovely deck overlooking the river for chilling; and big garden for youngsters to run around or kick a ball. If you are intending to use the single-bed spaces for adults, open plan means that the rooms are not private; these two rooms are really well-suited for young children though. We had a lovely stay and were really appreciative that we could take our little dog. There was very heavy rain before we arrived, so I had to use my best driving skills on the dirt roads in my little car. But it also meant we were able to have fun tubing in the full river! We had a lovely stay.
