Such a great little spot! My dad was grateful to have a little spot for himself during the holidays that was so close to family! The little cabin had everything you need and is in such a peaceful, but little neighborhood. The owners were very communicative and responsive and came right over when they were needed. Would recommend! :)

I have stayed at the cabin 3 years in a row. I really like the central location and the street that it is on. It is quiet with neighborhood turkeys, bunnies and cats. The wi-fi works well – I take my own Roku stick to watch TV. There is a long paved walking/biking path just down the road, and “downtown” Mendota has two restaurants, post office, and historic houses within walking distance. There is a nice desk and office chair by the front window, and washer and dryer in the basement. It also has a nice deck with new deck furniture.

This was a very peaceful and serene country place to stay, I loved all the wildlife that is surrounding,,,,,,,,This place is nestled in a small town but within a mile from the freeways, close to the bigger towns, shopping and entertainment,,,,we mainly came for the state fair and got lucky and stayed at Kayla & Ricks house,,,,,,if I come back I will stay again!

Cozy cabin in the woods is a stretch. I arrived and was greeted by an unpaved driveway that was deep slippery mud , a broken porch light, and a horrible musty smell, that brought on an asthma attack that culminated in an abrupt departure and request for a refund. Kayla and Richard had nothing but excuses for everything. (e.g. unprecedented rain, it's allergy season in MN, we were going to fix it...) In other reviews, they responded that if things were not to someone's liking they were welcome to leave, but apparently that didn't include refunding all of their money. They offered to refund half of my 10 day stay, which I begrudgingly accepted but based on the unsafe conditions, in retrospect I should have insisted on all of it. By the way, the toenail clippers are still on display, they just don't seem to care about the guests impression.
