Kaia was a great host, but the place was not what we hoped for. I think there was mismatch with our expectations and what the place had to offer. We were a group of 2 families with seniors and kids ranging from 8- 17, first time visiting Hawaii and we wanted to see a lot. The location of the place was very very remote. Honakaa was OK for traveling around but the accommodation (1-2 miles from the freeway) the road is difficult to drive on. We were informed that a 4 wheel drive vehicle was required and we did get two of them, but in a terrain like this its the driver that's important, if you not used to hill driving, this is not a place you will feel safe getting in an out of. We had to cater 20 mins extra each time we wanted to get in and out to just reach the freeway. We were worried about medical emergencies. (3 doctors in our group). There are no heaters in the bedrooms. Scenic location, nice farm, friendly people, nice animals. They did everything they could to make us comfortable.

We arrived at the farm for my 85 year old mother’s first trip to Hawaii. We had four families 8 adults and 6 kids with us. We couldn’t have picked a better place. This was the best week for all of us and we are hoping to be able to do it again in the future, Tess and Tanner were very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know and again you just can’t go wrong with such a beautiful place

AhuLani was a beautiful location for the 11 of us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. We enjoyed the large kitchen, dining/living room, animals, gorgeous scenery and especially the beautiful meditation room. We drove to 2 beautiful beaches north of Kona one day. Another day to the East to Akaka Falls and Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve and Garden. The next day we went to Hilo to Carlsmith Beach Park to find turtles, but missed them. Then to the lava tubes at Kaumana Caves.

Kaia and Jess were amazing! The sanctuary was incredible & breathtaking and everything (+ more) than we expected for hosting our yoga retreat here. Would highly recommend to anybody considering!

Ahu Lani Sanctuary was the perfect home base for our large group of middle school students and chaperones. The common area is made for groups, the kitchen is spacious, and the outdoor space serene with lots of places for people to find solitude or adventure. Our group loved the opportunities to walk the property, and we were delighted to be visited each evening by the resident dogs. Each trip out of the sanctuary was a 4x4 adventure through picturesque terrain. ;) Thank you for being a gracious host!
