Punta Garuda was wonderful. It was quiet and the views were beautiful. The beach was steps away and felt private. The food and service was excellent and the people who worked there were all lovely. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. There is another villa on the property that shares the pool and palapa. They are far from the cabanas but if you want absolute total privacy I would rent the cabanas and the villa both. You can walk to restaurants along Playa St. Augustillo on the beach or on the road but Zipolite is a little further. For people who want to enjoy Zipolite's nightlife (particularly gay travelers) I would recommend renting compact cars or scooters to take you back and forth as taxis are not available if you plan on staying late and the walk from Zipolite is like 40 minutes in the dark on the road. The upside of all of this is that the house is extremely quiet and peaceful, which made for really nice days of relaxing by the pool and watching unbelievable sunsets.

I traveled with my family and had a wonderful stay. Monica and Mariana were extremely responsive, provided great recommendations and followed-up to make sure everything was taken care of. Since the moment you walk in the house, you’re transported to a magical oasis. Ceci is a great chef and her team (Gady and Diego) are extremely friendly and helpful. Sleep to the sound of the waves, stargaze at night by the pool and just relax all day.

El lugar de Mónica es maravilloso, tiene una ubicación privilegiada, una maravillosa alberca y el acceso a la playa es genial. El personal de la casa es amable, servicial, nos hicieron sentir como en casa y nos ayudaron en todo lo que les pedimos. ¡Comimos tan rico en la casa que no tuvimos ganas de salir!

What an incredible and magical villa this is! I highly recommend visiting Zipolite in Oaxaca, and Monica’s place is the best rancho to stay at - beautiful, quiet and private with amazing personality, a great staff and incredible views. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to Zipolite or Mazunte and totally unique. Monica was a wonderful host and would definitely recommend this beautiful place.
