'The Scullery' (c.1828), 10 minutes drive from Launceston Airport, a convict-brick dwelling. Originally it was the farmhouse kitchen, it has been beautifully restored in 2017 for guest accommodation. Modern furniture, allowing its convict-era past to shine, charming and unique. Continental breakfast supplied. Kitchenette, wood heater, private luxurious bathroom with underfloor heating and highest quality fittings, designer furnishings and fenced gardens. River and mountain views. Hearty continental breakfast provisions in your room include local milk, house-baked sourdough, orange or apple juice, jams and vegemite, local yoghurt, cereals, leaf tea and a real deal coffee machine. Complimentary port and supper plate to enjoy in the evening. The Scullery has unlimited wifi, and Smart TV with Netflix. King size bed commercial quality Sleepmaker mattress, cot available upon request for one infant under two years of age. Surrounded by many acres of farmland, 'The Scullery' is adjacent, but not connected to, our family home. We are available if needed, but you have your own 'zone' with outdoor fenced gardens and seating areas to take in the sweeping views . You can walk along the river bank, through the fields and around our property. There are birds of prey, native flora and fauna and of course, lots of sheep! We have chooks, horses, Wessex Saddleback pasture-raised pigs and friendly dogs.

So sweet and perfect for a romantic getaway off the beaten track in Tassie. Vanessa and Angus were delightful and attentive hosts. The Scullery was charming and provided everything we needed. A beautiful stay.
Angus and Vanessa’s studio is cosy, stylish and extremely comfortable. The thoughtful touches including wine, fresh bread, toiletries and even plush dressing gowns added to the beauty of the natural environment-the South Eske river, wedge tailed eagles, lambs frolicking in the fields and especially the warm welcome from Curly and Scruffy (canine family members). The Scullery is an Absolutely Amazing Place to Stay . A Very Romantic little Cottage set on a beautiful country estate. The Scullery Cottage has a Romantic fire and Original Claw Foot Bath . Vanessa has stocked the cottage with an abundance of lovely supplies from Food to Luxe Bath Supplies. The Cottage is quite and peaceful. Angus has restored the Scullery to its former glory and its truly on point. I recommend The Scullery for an enjoyable stay. We will return some day. Thank You Vanessa & Angus. We are 5 minutes from Woolmers Estate & National Rose Garden and Brickendon Estate; 10 minutes from Perth, Evandale and the Launceston Airport; 15 minutes from Longford; 20 minutes from Launceston. Even though our address is 'Midland Highway', The Scullery is set back 1.5 kilometers from the highway; road noise is not an issue, the setting is peaceful and rural. You may hear the distant baa of lambs, the sqwark of raptors calling, or the gleeful announcement from a proud chook that an egg has been laid.
You will need private transport to stay here as we are 4 kilometres from nearby Perth where there is a bus service to Launceston and Hobart.

Seeing our children running around, the farm animals, the river, our gardens, growing our food and being in this community are all things that make me smile. I love hosting people and being hospitable. My husband, Angus, and I like to travel, we love local food and wine, enjoy new experiences and meeting people. We appreciate art and live music, wilderness walking and outdoor adventures. I reckon a great holiday is made better by attention to detail and the little things can make quite a difference.
