It's about 15 minutes by car from Amatlan de Canas and requires driving on a dirt road and over a river during the dry season. **** Español, lea abajo.**** This is a fairly new family ranch house located on the top of a mountain overlooking the countryside. You will have the whole house to yourself. It is a bit of a trek to town so please plan accordingly to bring everything you may need. Outside there is a soccer field and beautiful landscaping where you can relax in a hammock. Inside there is a kitchen with refrigerator, clothes washer, living room with TV and DVD player (bring your DVD's!), 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a king-size bed, and there are 2 foldaway beds and a couch, and plenty of floor space (tiled.) **note currently the water heater is broken and we are working to get it fixed. The house is located ~15-minute drive from Amatlan de Canas near Las Garzas. To get there you need to take a dirt road, and during the dry season, you can drive across a shallow river. During the rainy season (~June-Aug) you park your car on the other side of the river and walk across a footbridge. On the other side of the river, you need to do a moderate 15 hike to arrive at the house. You will need to carry your things with you up the hill, so if this doesn't sound like fun then during the rainy season this is not the house for you! During the dry season, assuming the river is low enough to cross by car, you can drive right up to the house and there is plenty of parking. We recommend you arrive before dark. Guest access You will have the house to yourself. A caretaker will come and show you how to arrive, let you in, answer any questions (he speaks Spanish, if you need English please let us know) and will be nearby if there are any problems. He comes by daily to water the grass and take care of the property. Other things to note If you didn't notice from the description, this house is rural and located in the countryside. You are about 10 minutes walking from the small community of Las Garzas and about 15 minutes by car (dry season) or 25 minutes walking/driving (wet season) from the town of Amatlan de Canas. You need to plan ahead and bring what you need, we will provide toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, bath towels, and bed linens but you need to bring anything else you need. We provide some filtered water but recommending bringing some of your own as well. The setting is beautiful and worth the trek out there! Note: at the moment there is no hot water. En el interior hay una cocina con refrigerador, lavadora, sala de estar con TV y reproductor de DVD (¡trae tus DVD!), 2 dormitorios y 2 baños. Cada habitación tiene una cama king-size, y hay 2 camas plegables y un sofá, y mucho espacio en el piso. También es posible acampar afuera para grupos mayores. La casa se encuentra aproximadamente a 15 minutos en coche de Amatlan de Canas, cerca de la comunidad de Las Garzas. Para llegar allí, debe tomar un camino de terracería y, durante la época seca, puede cruzar un río que generalmente no es profundo (favor de checar con nosotros antes de emprender el viaje).
