We visited southern Illinos for the eclipse and we had a wonderful time. Susan's place is beautiful, peaceful, sparkling clean and feels like a home. Susan and Eddie are the nicest people I've meet. They were helpful in every sense to made sure that we had everything that was needed for our stay. I can't recommend this place enough. We will be back.
The home and property was truly beautiful. Way beyond expectations with excellent communication by the host. The attention to detail in every room really made you feel at home. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet place in the county with modern amenities.
Susan and Eddie’s home was wonderfully unexpected! We knew we were going to have a lovely stay while in town for a family wedding, but this home and property provided needed rest and relaxation. We found ourselves sitting outside, walking the property, and visiting the neighbors horse. Such a beautiful time. The home exceeded our needs and provided great comfort. Susan also made sure to be available to answer any and all questions. I hope we have a reason to return in the future!!!
We've stayed here 3 times because (1) we love the natural beauty of southern Illinois; (2) the hosts are dog owners and have a large fenced yard which is perfect for our dog; (3) the backyard is a great place to watch birds; (4) the owners are very responsive. A great base of operations for exploring southern Illinois hiking, kayaking and more.
Perfect place for our family of four to getaway and relax! We highly recommend staying at Susan’s home! Very clean, better than advertised because pictures do not do this place justice. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The back deck and yard alone is 5+ stars and worth experiencing! They have thought of everything. We will definitely book again when in the area.

Young at heart and enjoying retirement, Eddie and I are always looking for a new adventure. Inviting responsible, respectful travelers into our beautiful home struck our fancy 4 years ago. It has been an adventure that requires us to be flexible, patient with each other, and constantly changing to meet the demands required of being a great AIRBNB host. In a nutshell, we love hosting ! Many of you are animal lovers, as are Eddie and I, and we understand the difficulties associated with taking your furry friend/furbaby on a trip. No worries, our home has a large fenced in backyard that your pet can safely explore. Build a campfire in the backyard and cook some brats, hot dogs, or smores while your pet sits by your side, or use the grill. The choices are yours. Winter will be fading soon and spring will bring a smile to all of us. Spring has a way of reviving and nourishing our spirits and dreams. The warm gentle breezes bring the scent of new growth and the promise of better days. A stay at our home will rejuvenate those feelings for you and your loved ones. We look forward to seeing you!
