Fun time at the lake

Mick and Trina were very communicative and very nice hosts, and their place had a lot of potential for us, but lots of "minor" things added up to an overall very frustrating experience that kept us from giving it a better rating. Our main issues: 1) They list 3 queen beds but at least 1 (and maybe 2) were either full or three-quarter beds. For couples, a full bed is extremely small and cramped. We didn't really get a good night's sleep. 2) We stayed 3 nights but were only given 1 towel/ person for the whole stay. 3) In general, the whole place was dusty, cobwebby, and almost all kitchen supplies/utensils were either covered in a white film, rusty, outright broken, or looked like they hadn't been cleaned well. 4) Stains on the couches and refrigerator. Again, not a huge issue alone, but given the price we paid, we expected more. 5) Multiple electrical outlets did not work. 6) Not even bedside lamps in the bedrooms Pros: pretty view from out back, location was peaceful & felt safe

Arrived at the house and noticed how unkept the landscaping and house seemed. There must be a sewer issue near the house because the smell was terrible and did not go away the entire month stay. Walked in and checked out the house. There were dirty dishes and food left in the dishwasher, trash in the trash cans, the linen closet looked liked someone just threw towels and sheets in there. I contacted the host about this and they were very apologetic. They have a cleaning crew, so they offered for them to come back to clean the mess. We loved the old books around house, very neat. No complaints on the beds. The living room couch and chairs covers need replacing. The shower pressure was amazing! Trash pickup is spotty. The closets were full of home repair items-cans of paint, wood, etc. The decking needs a pressure washer treatment. We were slipping and sliding on the algae. The dock stairs need to be replaced. Hosts were kind and provided all the supplies needed.

Use the canoe, bring a fishing rod! Nice place on the lake. The folks at the nearby marina are friendly and helpful.
