This was my third visit to Hydra and it was definitely the best visit. The host is extremely welcoming, the kitchen is more well equipped than my own and the location was perfect for me. For those keen on privacy - like myself - this place will live up to your demands. I work as a writer and Ioannis house provided the kind of tranquility I needed. Still, it is not too far from the harbour - you'll get there in 5 minutes, walking back up the steps will probably take you a bit longer, but the place is still very accessible for anyone with normal fitness. I will definitely return.

Ioannis är en perfekt värd som litar på sina boenden och alltid är positiv. Åsnan Penelope gjorde ett bra jobb när hon bar upp och ner alla våra väskor. Det är många trappor på Hydra så konditionen hålls i trim. Boendet var perfekt med dubbelsäng i ett rum o två singelsängar i ett annat. Stort vardagsrum och mycket bra kök där inget saknades. Vi lagade mycket mat varje dag i en vecka från omelette till bläckfisk. Endast 10 m från porten ligger en mindre livsmedelsaffär perfekt att handla 6 flaskor vatten varannan dag. Finns slakteri nere vid hamnen som kan rekommenderas. Fisk kan köpas från båtar kl 9.00. Det bjöds på egen olivolja och delikata oliver samt en flaska vin. Citronträd finns på gården med tillräckligt fruktförråd för varje citrusälskare. Vid köket kom man ut till ytterligare en utegård som delades av några andra med en kyrkobyggnad( ej aktiv) från 1774 mycket pittoreskt. Tack Ioannis och hans fru.

Das Haus hat alle unsere bisherigen Unterkünfte übertroffen. Lage, Ausstattung, Einrichtung, Sauberkeit…alles perfekt. Wir haben uns sofort wohl und zu Hause gefühlt. Ioannis ist ein so herzlicher Mensch und ein sehr zuvorkommender und bemühter Gastgeber. Er hat sich rührend um uns und unsere Kinder gekümmert, war jederzeit erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden gleich bei unserer Ankunft mit Wein und anderen Köstlichkeiten beschenkt und unsere Mädels durften auf seinem Esel Penelope reiten, mit dem wir auch vom Hafen abgeholt wurden. 1000 Dank, Ioannis, wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit und kommen wieder!

Absolutely wonderful choice! Ioannis is very friendly and helpful, and we felt ourselves like we are long-waited guests. Ioannis’s place is really great and we felt like at home. Rooms are spacious, beds are perfect and kitchen is well equipped. I just loved my mornings with a fresh lemon juice thanks to the lovely lemon tree in the yard, 15 minute walks to swimming spot, and very good restaurants in the port area. You do need to make few hundred meters of steps to get to the place, but it’s totally worth it. And if you stay more than few days, your physical body is thankful for this little training :) Besides, if you plan to go further from the port than 100m, you need start climbing steps in Hydra, that’s how this town is built on the rocky island. I’d also recommend taking some hiking to other parts of the island, to see also nature and other swimming places. To conclude - I’m happy and thankful and hopefully will back soon. Highly recommend!

This was our second time to stay at Ioannis's place after having such a positive experience the first time. The accommodation is exactly as described in the listing, including the photos. The supplies and provisions provided in the listing are first rate - including lots of extra towels, toiletries, groceries (e.g. salt, sugar, oil, herbs and spices). The location is excellent, half way between the port and Kamini. There are some steps, but this is normal in Hydra. While there is no view, the outdoor space is lovely. On top of all this, the most impressive part of our experience was Ioannis himself. As all the other reviews confirm, he is the kindest and most helpful host we have ever experienced in our many stays at Airbnb, an absolute gentleman. For example, we were leaving on the 7.20 am ferry and he came at 6.30 to say goodbye (with a beautiful gift for us) and insisted on carrying our bags down to the port for us. ευχαριστώ Ioannis !
