Augustin’s place is magical. If you like a convenient stop off the road near the border to Argentina, it is very close to the highway and yet tucked into a quiet canyon. The home has been in the family for generations and is beautifully restored with thick adobe walls, antiques and interesting historical art. There are friendly dogs to take on a walk, grapes hanging in the patio and jam from apricot trees. The pool is refreshing and hammocks hang from the trees. The food, wine and hospitality are first class! Don’t miss it if you like authentic, friendly and clean accommodation!

El lugar no está mal pero lamentablemente el dueño careció de criterio al culparnos por una pantalla de lámpara rota en la habitación. Estuvimos en la habitación aprox 8 h de las cuales 7, 5 fue durmiendo. Llegamos a las 23:30 y nos fuimos a las 7 am. Como venía con 2 niños de 6 y 7 años con los que estuve en todo momento, el insiste que los niños ocasionaron daño de la lámpara. Como les expliqué que no era posible porque siempre estuvieron conmigo en ese periodo y que cuando dejamos la habitación esta quedó abierta aprox 3 h antes de que alguien se percatara del supuesto daño .El insistió en culparnos a pesar de que se le dijo que estaba equivocado. Frente a esta situación me es imposible evaluar bien esta experiencia porque la verdad es que es la peor que he tenido en un alojamiento, no porque el lugar funcione mal sino por la falta de criterio y gran prejuicio que tuvo el dueño hacia mi y mi familia. Jamás lo recomendaría. Espero que este error que cometió al culparnos injustamente le sirva para tener mejor criterio en el futuro respecto al trato a sus huéspedes. Saludos J

We had a lovely time at Augustin’s place. Not only the house and the garden were amazing but Augustin’s family was super nice. We really enjoy the dinner cooked by the family. I highly recommend that place if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place.

Lugar absolutamente incrível, começando com a calorosa recepçào do Agustin e nos 4 dias seguintes, um convívio maravilhoso com a Sol e o Patrício. A casa é maravilhosa, extremamente bem decorada, limpa, grande, com enormes jardins cheios de arvores frutíferas, flores, piscina e adoráveis animais(gatos, cachorros, cavalos e até galinhas) convivendo na propriedade. A Sra. Isolina tambem capricha no café da manha, que esta incluído e é maravilhoso. O lugar é de uma paz e tranquilidade indescritíveis e foi díficil ir embora, pois já estávamos nos sentindo membros da família. Um beijo e um abraço na Sol e no Patricio, que foram nossos parceiros todos os dias...Espetacular!!!

Agustins home is a perfect pod to go skiing in Portillo explore the surroundings or simply be in a remarkable surrounding. Agustin and Patricio are amazing hosts, they have big smiles and bigger hearts and made sure that we felt at home in their amazing house. We learnt that this remarkable building was the Chilean customs house in the time of Agustin's Grandfather and it has been in the family for a long time. It was easy for us to feel at home, hard to leave and we recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a caring and connected experience away from home.
