Villa Despina in Kissamos is a gem! Located in the heart of a truly Greek town on the Western tip of Crete, you are close to some of the islands most beautiful beaches, whilst sheltered from the less attractive features of mass tourism that are visible on other parts of Crete. The villa has a great layout with lovely features in each room, and is excellently equipped. You will find everything you need to relax, prepare lush meals indoors and outside, or to be entertained by a great movie or a game like chess. The house is fantastic, and the host even more so. Stelios greeted us with an excellently informative tour of the house, with good advice on the surrounding area and a lovely cake! He was also most helpful if we had any questions. We loved the location of the house in Kissamos too, where you could just pop out on the street to pick up fresh vegetables, an iced latte or head down to the beach or the town square for a nice meal. We highly recommend staying at Stelios!

Très belle maison, idéalement située, à deux pas du centre ville de Kissamos. La villa offre de très belles prestations. Notre hôte Stelios a fait preuve d’une grande disponibilité, c’est une personne très sympathique et à l’écoute.

Wij hebben 10 dagen in het huis van Stelios mogen verblijven. Het huis was netjes schoon en modern ingericht. Zeker een plus punt is dat het huis niet gehorig is. Wat ik erg fijn vind als je met een grote groep verblijft en bijvoorbeeld onze kleinste een middag dutje doet. 1x een schoonmaakster gehad. Zij was erg vriendelijk en werkte netjes. Schoon beddengoed en badhanddoeken. Stelios is een echte gastheer. Fijn contact mee. Reageert snel bij vragen of opmerkingen. Geeft ook tips voor een dagje weg of waar je lekker kan eten. Kissamos is niet heel bruisend. Maar voor ons ( groep met 2 kleine kinderen ) perfect. Alles wat je nodig hebt is op loopafstand. Supermarkt, restaurants, cafeetjes, het strand, winkeltjes. Wij hadden een auto gehuurd en konden daarom mooie plekjes opzoeken of leuke dorpjes / stadjes. Perfecte vakantie! Dankjewel Stelios!

Just back from two weeks at Stelios's villa and everything was perfect. The pictures are exactly how it was presented and Stelios was the perfect balance of host and allowing you space and time to explore Kissamos and surrounding area. His local knowledge is perfect which allowed us the best time in his accommodation and gave us all the best places to visit in Crete. Would go back in a heartbeat :)

We had a fab stay at Villa Despina, would recommend! Stelios is an excellent host - he met us on arrival, took us to the local supermarket as we hadn’t hired a car and gave local recommendations for beach and places to eat and drink. Prior to our stay Stelios also gave car hire & airport transfer options, & a few shopping items in for us as we arrived late evening. The villa was super clean & had all that we needed for our family holiday of 6 adults The villa is a 5 mins walk from several small supermarkets & bakeries and 10 mins walk from the seafront bars and restaurants. We had fab meals at Cellar, Fish Tavern 1960 (you can choose your fish to be cooked and filleted to share, wonderful!), Ya Souvlaki (excellent quality gyros, burgers etc to eat in or take away), Maria Beach. Drinks at Babel include a large range of cocktails which were enjoyed! Breakfast in the square at Aeras is good value. We hired a car (Kissamos car hire) for a few days to visit Chania and Lake Kournas.
