The cottage was perfect and exactly as described. Emily's recommendations for local walks with our dogs were much appreciated as well as a helpful list of all the nearby pubs & restaurants!

We loved Emily's place from the original pictures , but were told that it had had a major overhaul. so when we arrived we were amazed at its transformation, it was like walking into a new house, same on outside but everything appeared to have changed inside. The new kitchen is well equipped and has new cooker, dishwasher and washer/drier. Emily provides a basic welcome pack with a few staple food items and tea coffee etc, the bedroom is gorgeous, the bedding and pillows were lovely and cosy, the bathroom has a lovely shower and Emily provides toiletries , a smart TV in lounge with a few books, games and lots of info about the local area and the whole of the North Coast. Thoroughly recommend staying at Lochside, its on its own, so feels remote but within 40 minute walk of beach and local village , it is hilly and your own transport recommended but there is a bus service with stop at end of the road. Emily is a great host too she's really helpful and had great communication.

This little house is the perfect retreat. The view out over the small loch is lovely - I wish I knew more about all the little birds hopping around in the grass. Emily was super helpful and let us stay with a few hours notice! All in all a really lovely place to shelter from the elements and explore some beautiful Scottish landscapes.

If you’re after the perfect get away, this is it! Of the beaten track, amazing views from every window, spacious and well thought out with really good Wi-Fi. The bed was extremely comfortable. Dog wise, perfect again… garden was fenced, fabulous beaches at Farr (Bettyhill), Dunnet Bay (Castletown) and Durness. Scenery to the West was well worth a day’s drive. You can buy eggs from Emily, too. Thank you Emily and Barry!
