The apartment is in a beautiful, rural location, ensuring a peaceful stay. It is situated at the end of a lane, on the crest of a hill affording beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Beyond the lane there is a path you can follow through the woods to Torre San Severo where there is a shop where you can buy food.
Nearby Orvieto is a beautiful little city, full of artisan shops, delicious restaurants and the stunning 14th century Duomo di Orvieto. We recommend Caffè Montanucci on Corso Cavour for breakfast and Charlie's on the Via Loggia dei Mercanti for pizza.
Just a short drive away is the lakeside town of Bolsena from which the huge lake takes it's name. A trip to lake Bolsena is like a trip to the seaside, with beaches, boats and shaded bars. You must try the award winning ice cream from Enoteca Gelateria Santa Cristina on Corso della Repubblica. You can also visit the Basilica of Santa Cristina (site of the miracle of Bolsena) and the roman site of Volsinii.
The countryside nearby is beautiful and criss-crossed with old trails. It is a lovely place for hikers. Cyclists will also love the winding, rolling roads.
Slow food is a real feature of the local economy. Nearby you can visit La Locanda di Colle Ombroso where they grow ancient grains and mill their own flour on the premises. On a weekend they also have a restaurant, which is well worth a visit, serving food from the farm and the local area. A little further away you can buy incredible goats' cheese from Fattoria Il Secondo Altipiano in Canonica. And of course the local wine is pretty special too. Why not pick some up from many local producers to take home.

Due to the rural location, we recommend you bring a car. There are occasional buses running through the lanes, but to really get to know the area you will need to have your own transport.
Orvieto (which is about 15 minutes drive) has an excellent train service to Rome, Florence and beyond.
