What a magical place! Tom and his comrades were amazing hosts at the edge of the world. I had wonderful times by the river and walking out into the high desert. I look forward to coming back. Note - the road in is a bit adventurous. Manageable and worth it!

Tom's off-the-grid Basecamp Lodge gave us a front row seat the all the beauty & grandeur of Moab's Red Rock country. Plenty to do, from simply relaxing (both during the day and around a crackling bonfire @ night) to hiking, kayaking, biking, 4wheeling, and star gazing; (the moon & stars show so much brighter away from the lights of the city) made this place uniquely special. Highly recommend!

Tom’s place is amazing. The drive on the way in can be intimidating but don’t give up! His place is worth it for sure. Plan for extra time and strongly recommend doing it in daylight for the first time and it will be fine. On the way out it seemed like no problem. The location is incredible. He has a bunch of different room options that can fit all different needs. Talk to Tom or the staff to get great recommendations for all length of hikes and drives to hikes in the area. This is the real Moab. No crowds, no touristy gimmicks. You get all the sites and views of the national parks and tourist attractions with free range to go wherever you want whenever. We had our two dogs with us and this was absolutely the right decision to come here. Tom has lived out here for 18 years and knows more than any tour guide you can find. It was amazing and highly recommend.

Unequalled outdoor adventure for sure - beautiful and expansive. "Quiet" doesn't do it justice. Tom and Teresa are great hosts; responsive and warm, very informative. Outdoor grilling was great, areas for an evening fire are fun. The Colorado river was too high to kayak. Our room was small but the lodge amenities outside, the porches, the kitchen made up for it. You have to watch Tom feed his pet 22 year old, 210# tortoise on the front porch. As for the ride in and out, it is an adventure on its' own. I don't know how someone comes in with a regular vehicle without undercarriage damage but we saw someone do it. The destination makes it worth it.

Tom’s place is amazing! The beauty is breathtaking and mesmerizing. The beds are comfortable and Tom makes you feel right at home. We checked out the Wind Cave and Chicken Corner recommendations he made- tremendous and adventurous! We played the extreme disc golf course and loved it. The river was flooded so we didn’t get to kayak unfortunately. We met some new friends and came away with great memories! The drive there is definitely quite a ride, but Toms instructions were excellent and helped with navigating it safely. Overall, Tom and his place are highly recommended!
