Gorgeous house. Stayed with 5 law school buddies. The place was spacious, kitchen fully equipped, backyard a dream. Shower situation was mediocre but other than that, the attention to detail was super charming. Pool table downstairs lots of fun. Fire pit in backyard was awesome. We cooked so can’t comment on restaurants but the coffee shop 10 min walk away was perfect.

I will start by saying that the house has beautiful views and is conveniently located. The home is nice, but honestly, I was expecting better quality given how expensive the daily rate and cleaning fees are. However, the issue isn’t the home - it’s the process the owner makes you go through in order to rent the property. Had I known that the lead up to the trip would be so painful, I would have opted for other accommodations. While Evolve manages the airbnb listing, that’s where their involvement seems to end. They then pass your information off to the owner of this property who refuses to communicate with the renter within the platform. Via text he rudely told me that if I didn’t want to give him my email, then I should look for another rental property. In all my years renting vacation homes from airbnb, I have never encountered such a rude host. Unfortunately, we had passed the refund deadline and I was unable to cancel our booking to look for another place for our group to stay. Additionally, the owner requires renters to sign a 10 page rental agreement contract on top of the terms signed on airbnb. Some examples of the details in his contract include: Renters will be fined $1,500 “if it is determined by our cleaning staff that shoes were worn (by anyone) in the home during the Renters’ stay;” they may be fined for not putting away an air mattress “correctly;” the owner IS ALLOWED TO DO A RANDOM HOUSE CHECK if they suspect that you are breaking any of their rules while you are there. On top of that, the owner also requires the renter to send a scanned copy of their drivers license to him prior to arrival as well as have the person checking you in take a picture of it to verify. This is on top of already being a verified renter on airbnb. Checking in was also much more difficult than it needed to be. A code was supposed to be sent to my email and phone a week prior to our arrival, but it never was sent. He sorted this out once I reached out to him while we were at the property waiting to be checked in. The cleaner met us to do a walk through of the house which consisted of us writing down items that were already scratched or damaged. As the review states below — the items in the house are averagely nice, but they don’t appear to be expensive. It was an unnecessarily tiresome process to check in to the home. Upon checkout, there was no follow up walk through of the house to assess the property together and address any issues if they arose. Because of this antiquated process, there was an atmosphere of distrust imposed by the owner leading me to worry the entire visit that they were going to try to scam me out of more money than we already paid on airbnb.

Beautiful location! Some things were disappointing given the cost (felt rip on pool table, cheap curtain rods that made it difficult to open and close curtains). The check in process (full walkthrough of the house where you list damaged materials) is pretty overbearing especially considering that the furnishings while nice do not appear to be $$$$), although I guess they must have had some bad experiences in the past. Basically if you’re anxious like me you’ll be thinking about whether they’re going to try and scam you the entire time you’re there! So that wasn’t relaxing! But the location was lovely and it was perfect for our vacation.

This is a very picturesque and beautiful home located right on the Bay. It is our second time staying there and it did not disappoint. It was great to lounge out in the back yard and barbecue in the summer and a perfect place for a Thanksgiving meal with family. It is within walking distance to really good restaurants, a park for kids to play and the movie theater. I highly recommend this place.

The location is great for Olympic Park wanderings. Overall, the place needs a bit of updating.
