Devcich Historic Homestead is in a beautiful location within easy reach of a range of walks . The homestead itself has a wealth of history going back 3 generations and Lorenza was happy to show us around and share her family memories. There is a beautiful river on the farm with a lovely swimming hole. The birds and livestock are a delight. It is truly a special place to either relax or base yourself for day trips or tramps into the hills .

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights. The host, Lorenza is marvelous and the cottage is excellent. It is the perfect pad for refreshment away from city life. The history of the farm and Lorenza’s stories are not to be missed! Thank you Lorenza! We will be coming back if that is ok with you.

Wow! This was the perfect base camp for our first nights in New Zealand! We were able to drive in to Thames easily (the road is a little narrow but once you do it a couple times it’s beautiful to drive on!), and the trip to the Pinnacles track was just right! The tour that Lorenza gave was awesome and we were lucky enough to arrive shortly after the birth of a couple lambs! Lorenza even let us bottle feed one of them and they were so sweet! Little Dolly will stay in our hearts forever!! Highly recommend this charming and bucolic cottage for any couple or solo adventurer!!
