Accessed from a wonderfully flower-filled street in the lovely Umbrian town of Città della Pieve, Pieve Suites consists of three recently renovated luxury studio apartments, each of which occupies an entire floor of this medieval townhouse. Singly, each suite is an excellent choice for a couple; but Pieve Suites is also ideally suited to larger groups who wish to take all three suites. Quiet and secluded, with Umbrian hill views, Pieve Suites is right at the heart of the busy centro storico. Luxuriously renovated in 2017, the spacious en-suite, self-catering studios are airy, bright and generously equipped. Each has its own distinctive decor. The ground-floor Garden suite is almost unique for accommodation in a historic centre: it has its own private garden, a glorious spot to enjoy an al fresco breakfast or aperitivo. The Mid suite is decorated in shades of peacock green and teal. Heirloom bedside cabinets, elegant Rubelli fabrics and contemporary furnishings play off against exposed beams. The duplex Top suite features an attic bedroom beneath one of Città della Pieve’s terracotta roofs: a skylight lets you star-gaze (though there’s a blind if you’d prefer to sleep…). In the downstairs living area French doors allow a gorgeous view of the Umbrian countryside. The divan can be made into a full-sized double bed. Each suite has air-con/heating, a comfortable sofa, a well equipped kitchenette for preparing light meals, and a chic bathroom with a radiator for keeping towels warm and organic toiletries made in Umbria. Pieve Suites is in the heart of Città della Pieve: it's an easy stroll through the charming centro storico to a wide selection of cafés, restaurants, shops and some fascinating historical sights. Despite its centralissima position, the suites are quiet and secluded. Pieve Suites has no common spaces, but each of the spacious units is large enough for gatherings of a group taking the house as a single property.

A comfortable and well-serviced townhouse with bedrooms and bathrooms on three floors. It is ideal for small groups, especially couples, travelling through the beautiful surrounds of Umbria and visiting the historical town of Città della Pieve for a few nights. There are a number of gems to be discovered in the city and the well-located suites are the perfect launchpad to do so.
Wir waren zum zweiten Mal bei Anne, weil es uns das Jahr zuvor so gut gefallen hatte. Wir sind eine Familie mit 4 Teenagern und hatten das ganze Haus für uns. Annes Haus ist das schönste Airbnb, in dem wir je waren: Geschmackvoll, bltzsauber, eine Oase. Die Lage ist ebenfalls hervorragend, mittendrin und dennoch absolut ruhig. Der kleine Garten ist herrlich, der Ausblick wunderschön. Wir waren diesesmal während des Palio da, es war eines der schönsten Wochen unseres Lebens: Citta ist eine italienische Bilderbuchidylle, ein Ort mit sehr viel Seele und Herzblut, der sich nicht an den Tourismus verkauft hat. Wer die beste und authentische Seite von Italien erleben möchte, der ist hier absolut richtig. Anne ist sehr hilfsbereit und immer sofort erreichbar. Die Unterkunft ist wohl etwas teurer als andere, aber es lohnt sich absolut.
We are a family of six- two adults and four children ages 3, 6, 9, and 11. We traveled to Citta della Pieve to visit some friends. We rented all three of the Pieve Suites for four nights. Anne is wonderful and her place is beautiful, new, clean and the sheets, towels and bedding are all very comfortable. While the place is new, she kept the charming touches of the period with exposed beams and brick walls. Anne filled me in on all three suites and told me which rooms would be better for the kids. The kitchenettes are well-equipped as well as the bathrooms with shampoo, soap, etc. CdP is small and we were able to walk all around town. Anne met us at our car and helped us find parking and bring our luggage to the suites and then met us on check out. I would highly recommend Pieve Suites for anyone visiting Umbria. Her guide is amazing and I really enjoyed meeting Anne!
È stato un soggiorno davvero bellissimo! Eravamo in 6 per festeggiare Capodanno ed abbiamo affittato tutte e 3 le suites. Davvero splendide, con tutti i confort! Sono collegate tra di loro tramite una scala interna, essendo posizionate una su ogni piano. A fare da cornice un paesaggio davvero suggestivo! La consiglio vivamente!! Ci siamo trovati benissimo e sarà un piacere tornare di nuovo, magari con qualche giorno in più di tempo 😊

With a population of just 1200 people in its centro storico, Città della Pieve is a bit of an anomaly in this part of Umbria. There are many towns of similar size which are (almost) as pretty but none with the life and energy you’ll experience here. Besides an absurd concentration of restaurants and cafés, we have an active theatre and a programme of seasonal events which outstrips offerings in far larger towns. All are easily accessible on foot from Pieve Suites.
The medieval heart of Città della Pieve still sits within its 13th-century walls. The red-brick facades of its buildings are a palimpsest, layered with faint outlines of architectural changes of heart, telling the story of intensely lived centuries. Originally attached to the ancient Rocca (fortress) and located immediately above the walls, Pieve Suites is no exception, with its silhouettes of forgotten windows and long-closed doors.
Città della Pieve is perched on a hilltop at an altitude of 508m, looking into Umbria on one side and Tuscany on the other. The wine-producing areas of southern Chianti are within an easy drive, as are dramatic Val d’Orcia and lovely Lake Trasimeno. Should you tire of our rural attractions Siena, Florence, Rome and Perugia are all within easy reach either by car or by train from Chiusi station (15 minutes away).
Città della Pieve can be reached from Rome, Florence, Pisa and Perugia airports – easily by car, and with varying degrees of difficulty by public transport. Our nearest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme.
Though all the sights and amenities of charming Città della Pieve are within easy walking distance, private transport is highly recommended, and is essential if you're planning to explore the area. The town is well provided with carparks which are free outside the walls and charged at €1 an hour inside the walls.
