'Pengwyn' - The Pottery - Sleeps two. This ensuite kingsize room with its own entrance offers the perfect pitstop for walkers, nature lovers or those just wishing to immerse themselves in the magic of North Cornwall's countryside and coastline. With St. Nectan's Glen & the coastal path on the doorstep, journey east to Boscastle or west to Tintagel. 'Pengwyn' is situated on a quiet private lane with no through traffic and only a few steps away from the Glen. Pengwyn started off life as a Pottery, and this room features the Pottery's original stone walls. Comfort and touches of luxury combine to give you as much or as little contact with the outside world as you wish. Your room has wi fi, a smart TV (together with access to films ~ Netflix & Prime, and fire stick should you wish to hunker down), a fridge big enough for a bottle of wine, a couple of beers (or water to keep you hydrated on your walks) and a Nespresso machine (and handful of capsules to get you started). The bedroom has underfloor heating and what we hope you will find an uber comfy king size bed to collapse into after a day of adventuring and an ensuite shower room complete with heated towel rail (towels provided). Complementary milk, mini cereals and tea and coffee to get you started, plus lots of recommendations for where to enjoy breakfast. Pea barista milk on request. The room has it's own covered outdoor terrace, which is useful for storing muddy boots and coats and for relaxing and sheltering from the sun or showers in your own Walton Styley swing chair. Guests have shared access to an outside shower for washing off wetsuits, sandy feet and a hose spray for cleaning wellies. The Pottery is one of two ensuite rooms each with their own entrance. The Garden Room being slightly larger is available for those wanting to bring their four legged friend.
Ottima esperienza. La camera molto pulita e accogliente ( fiori freschi sia in camera che in bagno!) con tutto il necessario per la colazione. Un carino patio con tavolo, sedie e dondolo. Ottima assistenza da parte di Tara( thank you for tea!).
What a lovely visit! Pengwyn is in a gorgeous location; off the beaten track (literally!) with an outstanding view and beautiful garden. The room was brilliant and incredibly well priced. All the amenities to go with it, plus an ensuite and the bed was very comfortable which always makes a huge difference to the quality of the stay. Whilst we did not meet them personally, Tara and Richard were excellent communicators and always on hand for any recommendations. 10/10! I'll definitely end to come back here again!
A fantastic little getaway for us and Tara could not of been more helpful! A little gem hidden between Boscastle and Tintagle! If we get the chance to go back we will definitely take it! Thank you Tara for your hospitality!
Tara was an amazing host, providing prompt communication and ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The house itself was not only cozy and welcoming but also conveniently located near breathtaking walks and the historic Tintagel Castle. Tara's hospitality truly made my trip memorable, and I would highly recommend her Airbnb to anyone looking for a delightful stay in the area. it was an incredible experience from start to finish *5STAR*
Walk out from your room onto a private lane which leads to the Glen and then either onto the Waterfall at St. Nectan's Glen (there is a fee to access the waterfall which is particularly magical during the winter months - the waterfall owners even offer wellies to paddle should you not have brought your own) or onto winding footpaths that lead to the coastal path. A 20 minute walk takes you to Rocky Valley which is a National Trust treasure and a gateway to the coastal path where the stream dramatically meets the sea. Tintagel and the famous castle is a 35 minute walk across fields or slightly longer via the coastal path (depending on how many stops you make to take in the views/get your breath back!).
There is a bus stop at the end of the lane and buses run regularly (although best to bear in mind that occasionally buses operate on Cornish time with buses due to arrive 'directly'.... which can mean any time before the next bus is due!).
Parking available. Unfortunately we aren't able to accommodate camper vans.
自我介绍
We moved into Pengwyn three years ago (the previous owners lived here for 40 years and having fallen in love with Pengwyn ourselves we understand why they never moved!). A combination of circumstance and a chance to take on a new challenge brought us to Cornwall. 'Pengwyn' is our family home and our labour of love. We have renovated the house ourselves and have poured love, sweat and tears (mostly of happiness!) into creating a space that we hope others will love as much as we do. Friends and those who have stopped and encouraged us as we have worked on the house often ask if we are on 'Grand Designs' and I smile and say that we are lucky as there haven't been any unexpected pregnancy's or health traumas (forgetting that Richard fell from the scaffold!) but problems with funds and time frames might well have qualified us for the show! We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to be a part of Pengwyn's legacy and look forward to continuing to look after this special place - a green roof and a magical wood fired hot tub in the garden are next on the to do list!.
