Our lovely gîte which was renovated 2015 is located in the small hamlet of Port Martin, just 850m from the village of Langon-sur-Cher. Along with our own home, it is set in a 2 acre garden with beautiful views of the countryside and situated between the River Cher and the Berry Canal. The gîte is approximately 10m long by 5m wide with the upstairs sitting directly under the apex of the roof. There is a heated pool which is 11 meters long by 5 meters wide and 2.8 meters deep at the deepest area. There are walk-in steps and a handrail to allow for easy entrance and exit for guests The downstairs has one very large room which is separated into a lounge and a kitchen/diner area. The lounge area has a large leather bed settee in addition to two armchairs. There is a television in the lounge and in the bedroom, both of which have access to British and French television programmes. It has a rustic feel throughout with beautiful wooden beams whilst at the same time having all the modern comforts of home. There is a full working kitchen with traditional ebony units and modern cooker, hood, microwave and fridge (with a small intergrated freezer compartment). If you wish to eat indoors there is a heavy farmhouse table suitable for up to six people. Alternatively guests can enjoy their evening meal on their own terrace area watching the sun setting in the distance while young children enjoy themselves playing house. The property has one large bedroom upstairs and can accommodate 4-6 people. There is a central beam across the room to which a curtain can be attached to partition the room into two if required. We have two single beds (which can be placed together as a super-king bed) as well as a bed-settee. The settee in the living area is a actually a bed-settee with a 12 cm thick mattresses). A large bathroom is also situated on ground floor and consists of a toilet, hand basin and large modern shower cubicle (120 cm x 90 cm).
