Entering Istria from the northwest, the first place you will come across is Salvore, located on the tip of the peninsula of the same name. This small fishing village has a rather rich history. Its name is in fact mentioned for the first time already in the 12th century, while, according to the archaeological remains found in the surroundings, this territory would have been inhabited since the Stone Age.
The area of Savudrija which includes Zambratija, Basanija, Borozija and Savudrija, is located in the north of the Istrian region, between the Italian city of Trieste and the Croatian city of Umag. In and around the fishing village of Savudrija you will find many attractions such as the famous Savudrija lighthouse.
Its jagged and mostly rocky coastline is characterized by numerous small sandy beaches and is surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation rich in laurel trees, palm trees, different species of evergreen shrubs, pines and cypresses. Thanks to the air that is breathed in this area, with an ideal concentration of vegetable and marine aerosols, the climate of Salvore is able to stimue and promote physical well-being. This characteristic was known already in the Austro-Hungarian era. On the other hand, the tourism of this locality was originally developed in the realm of well-being.

When you come to Istria from the northwest, the first place you'll come across is Savudrija, situated on the edge of the peninsula of the same name.
Pula Airport from the region of Umag is about 85 km away and runs throughout the year. Trieste Airport, Ronchi dei Legionari from Umag is all around 90 km away. You can arrive from the airport to Umag by bus, taxi or car. Istria has excellent road connections over the Istrian Ipsilon (y-shaped road).
By car: After having crossed the border between Slovenia and Croatia, continue for about 1 km and at the roundabout take the second exit, to enter the motorway, towards Umag. Take the first exit for Umag. As soon as you exit the motorway you will need to turn left onto the regional road. Continue for 2 kilometers and at the next roundabout take the first exit for Savudrija (Salvore). Continue straight for 10 kilometers until reaching the town of Bassania. After 500 meters from the village table, on your right, you will see Tourist Agency Sirene (address: Belveder 9, Bassania). You have arrived at your destination.
