Jean - Baptiste was welcoming, friendly and responsive to our needs. Situated in the grounds of the chateau, Le Foret was a perfect location for a family holiday. The relaxed accommodation; the secure garden and pool with its close proximity to the house made it perfect for safely entertaining and feeding four infants under 5. They could not bear to leave their surroundings- they lived in the pool! However, bicycle rides along the forest trails and a coffee break at La Lutine boulangerie and patisserie made a welcome change for the adults in the party. The garden and grounds are lovely. We had a nice time here. However the buildings need an upgrade. There was an outdoor rotten wooden staircase that could have caused injury, broken garden furniture with rusty nails sticking out, old kitchen utensils, as well as a fridge that did not work properly. Throughout the house there is paint peeling off and a need for a thorough clean. We counted 11 used dirty scrubbing sponges under the kitchen sink plus two more in the toilets. We have stayed in many air bnbs and none have been in such a poor state, especially as this is an expensive property.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour entre amis. Tout était parfait. Le château est très beau. Le jardin et la piscine sont super bien aménagés. Le logement est super bien équipé (cuisine, jeux, raquettes de ping-pong, etc). L’hôte nous a même aidé à recharger la batterie de notre voiture. Le village de Vouvant, à quelques minutes en voiture, vaut le détour.

Lovely, helpful hosts. Tranquil location, with easy access to local attractions. Great property - worked well for a large group.

We (parents and three kids aged 10 and 5) spent 9 fantastic days in the cottage. Plenty of room, well-equipped kitchen and place in general as well as a fantastic outdoor area with pool, table tennis, various dining and lounge areas and room enough for playing football and games. Close to the amazing theme Parc Puy du Fou and harbour city La Rochelle amongst others.
